The chapter must not have impressed the spoiler provider much since this is all they typed, unlike more recent chapters. The title is about Kuroumaru (specifically, Kuroumaru-kun, if that means anything) and Kuroumaru’s hardships. However, other than Kirie and Touta getting mentioned, I’m not sure what else is being stated here. (Darn my lack of Japanese knowledge.)
Now, time to wait for a translation. Updates to follow, as needed.

Update #2: Since the harem stuff stepped into high gear, the Japanese are seemingly more enthusiastic about UQ Holder. Here are a couple of spoiler images.
Are we getting a tease there about Kuroumaru’s background? (Please be “yes”.) Also, Akamatsu-sensei really is working overtime to make Touta less insufferable. Seriously, that picture of him with the youkai girls (or whatever they are) — is that not adorable or what? 😛

I noticed that 2ch did a comparison of the two earlier spoiler images and compared them to moments in Love Hina. I’m not sure what that was about, but I guess we may get an idea when the chapter comes out in English. Just so you can see, I’ve included the image here.

So, Kuroumaru became a lovely girl after all (or so it appears). Yay! That can resolve that plot thread and now, I can sail on the Kuro x Touta ship. 😉
Update #5: Not that I’m complaining, but the Japanese have been really fired up about spoiler images lately. It seems this harem stuff, combined with Kuroumaru becoming a lovely girl really has them going.

Well Kuromaru wont win… so might as well clean this up. She will end up being a girl and then lost.
So now we can move on with the main plot.
I’ve sorta lost track of what that is. 😛
I can’t say I’m shocked that Kuroumaru is becoming a lovely girl, but I still think it would have offered a chance for some genuinely original plot threads.
Then again, so would having Eva get mad at Touta and turn him into a girl instead. (^_~)

Heh! I’ve been working so hard to be gender-neutral with Kuroumaru, which isn’t easy to do in English. So it will be nice to be able to use pronouns with Kuroumaru again. 😀

In retrospec, her cursed body could’ve been referencing that she was Taboō.
I’d forgotten about that thing. It may indicate that Kuroumaru wouldn’t get wings until the gender choice was made.
We saw an image of Kuroumaru with a white and black wing but I assumed they were symbolic.
That’s what I thought too. It could indicate that she’d get wings after making a gender choice.
Even as someone who’s more forgiving than most of this series, this teen hijinks plot is starting to wear thin. I hope it doesn’t lasst a full volume.
Even though the main plot has stalled, at least Kuroumaru’s character arc is moving forward.
I just want to Touta to hurry up and Ayaka..(it feels so weird not referring to her as iincho/class rep).
Funny thing though, these hijinks are what appear to have energized the Japanese fanbase. I haven’t seen this kind of activity among them in quite some time. It really is starting to feel like the Negima! days, where they’d post many spoiler images and chat and chat about it.
The main plot really hasn’t done that much all along. There have been random stories, all geared to making Touta surpass Negi. I am glad that the “Is Kuroumaru going to become a girl or a boy” element is now resolved.
The manga is starting to get boring now enough filers allready akamatsu ?
While I can’t understand what the Japanese fans are saying, this filler stuff really has them jazzed in that they are sharing all these spoiler images and chatting at a much greater volume than they have been in a very long time.
So Akamatsu may of missed his deadline, or the machine translation was wrong, bbecause it then said gundam. Make of it what you will.
Their monster girls, which is quite a trend.
They were shown early on in the manga when the group first arrived at the Senkyoukan. What I don’t know is if they come from the Magic World or if they are youkai of some sort.
The past few chapters were fun for me too — made me laugh especially when I finally saw a form of negi’s sneeze when Touta disintegrated Karin’s maid’s uniform, and the similar reaction of doing such, esp to Karin.
But there are many other story lines hanging out there…
I was wondering about the other large number of UQ members that introduced themselves that were shown when Touta first arrived an Senkyokan. Though the Inn may be empty, there should be more interaction with these other ‘monsters’ there, and maybe we may be seeing some of them again, and get a better background about them.
No updates on the Konoe twins too – wondering if they too have disappeared like Ayaka and Chachamaru.
No update on the group that tried to grab Touta earlier, that had their air and ground forces destroyed by the UQ group.
Washing one’s back is a bonding/trusting type of intimate activity, that even Fairy Tail has used recently when Ezra scrubbed Natsu’s back when they were in a hot spring. I kinda expected Yukihime to be the one that did scrub Touta’s back at the end, as a indication that the Touta/Eva connection isn’t over as yet. If Eva didn’t want to be involved with Touta, then she would have refused – and she probably knows about that legend, and probably watched the on-going battle in the bath. It would have been fun if the other girls all ganged up on Yukihime, but that might have been too much of a break from traditions of who a ‘boss’ is and the respect shown to that ‘boss’. It would be fun too if Ikkyu made up the story, just to see how gullible the girls would be and what they do with that information. Its something a guy would do too.
Mizore’s cooking and making a bento reminded me of Negima, where it seems in both series, food and enjoying a meal together is also a time to be happy and develop friendships.

That’s hardly exclusive to Akamatsu’s writing: it’s one of the oldest and most resorted to cliches in harem writing.

Yeah, there’s just a lot of random stuff that happens, usually just to allow Touta to level up.
It’s really inactive storyline because they give other scene that about lively and entertain. I want to see more story and the secret of all mysteries “is it the timeline that Asuna not done awaken ? If Negi is grandpa’s Touta then who is his wife and what’s his current age? And what’s the witch of begining want to do with touta why she stared only him and quite know that Touta is? When Touta see Evangaline when she 16 years old , Did her memory finally changed and her first love’s Nagi then it’s only way that we can guess is Touta do the wrong way by changing her memory and fall in love with Evan , but look like she knows everything what happen in the past… The mysteries have been very difficult to unravel… To be contine!
Negi didn’t have any biological children, so whoever was his wife (if he ever had one, which seems very unlikely now) doesn’t mean anything for Touta’s ‘parentage’.
He may not have had a wife, but I bet he did have a harem still. 😉

I wonder if we’ll meet a descendent of Keitarou and Naru at some point. Maybe at the end of the series someone we’ve known for a while will be revealed to a descendent.
After all, Keitarou was Akamatsu’s first immortal character :L
Kuroumaru was 14 during the Mahora arc and we’ve had an 8 month timeskip so he can’t choose his gender for another year, right?
I was thinking things were a lot closer than that. Plus, even if Kuroumaru was 14, if she were 14 years and 11 months of age, then all the months that were spent before the Dana arc, plus the eight months in Dana’s realm would make her right at 16.
She could before than, but her sixteenth birthday was her deadline before the choice was taken from her.
Har. While Keitaro’s indestructibility was done as a joke, it is true that Akamatsu-sensei does incorporate joke stuff as a real thing. I’m not sure if Keitaro was actually immortal though.
I would like to see a Urashima character. Maybe a grandkid is in charge of the Hinata inn and we’ll visit there at some point. Maybe the green-haired swordswoman or vampire kid are staying there(unless they’re already members of UQ Holder).
Or, and I would love this, the UQ Holder inn is attacked and they all move to Hinata :L but I doubt that would happen.
Yeah, an Urashima character would be interesting.
As to Hinata Inn, sometimes the Senkyoukan feels like Hinata-sou. I’ve sometimes wondered if it is the same place, remodeled and added onto.

I wanted to have more tournament soon, and we don’t even know how Touta can still participate… but from Santa’s comment last chapter, we won’t be seeing a fight anytime soon…
… I mean, it’s funny and all, but… wait WHAT?! That last Picture…?! Is that Touta actually ANSWERING Kuroumaru’s confession?! HELL YEAH! Time for some background, and for Touta to find out Kuro’s (lack of? Not anymore ;))gender as well! Do you hear me Akamatsu?! Focus on THIS, and don’t you dare change the current plot! XDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Just guessing, but the books were returned to the correct owner, without any one seeing what was written in the other’s books. This keeps it personal and private for each of them, so that no other person knows that information. The retrieval of the books and the information it held was the strong motive and purpose to get Santa, Kirie, Kuromaru and Tota to want to get it back., and Dana didn’t give them any other option either. It would have been nice to see what the books revealed, but looks like that isn’t going to happen soon. So much potential of stories that can be developed to be told.
I agree with the privacy theory. I think the books would only come into play in some future character arc once again focusing on either Kuromaru, Santa or Kirie, though arguably, Kuromaru becoming a girl is a crucial sub-plot in these character introduction interlude chapters.
Because I think that these chapters are meant to be interludes, to expand the cast in preparation for the next arc, where Mizore and Shinobu will play very crucial roles. While Kuromaru would fight by Touta’s side as a female, and learn that in that respect, Touta still regards her as his precious battle partner regardless of gender, and that chosing between pursuing Kuromaru as a girl and being a battle companion is not mutually exclusive.
It just occurred to me that with Kuromaru making her choice, Santa is the only male in Touta’s battle harem, if we don’t count Ikkuu. I wonder whether Akamatsu initially intended for Sayoko Minase to join the cast, only to realize that he couldn’t have all of Touta’s peers be female. Also, sometime down the line, I suspect Ikkuu will load himself into a female body, just to troll the cast hard.
I actually think that Sayoko was never intended to be part of the cast, but I do think that her popularity as a character caused him to leave a crack opened, whereby she could return.
As a troll maneuver, yeah, that could be funny. ^_^
Will Akamatsu reintroduce Pactios into UQ Holder? If he does, that’s basically dumping high octane gasoline into the merry harem bonfire that’s lit up in the past 10 chapters or so. If Pactios are on the table, it could go any number of ways. For example, Kuromaru might have the strongest claim to a pactio with Touta, while I am sure Touta won’t mind being Eva’s Minstra, if possible. Of course, pactios might not work with Touta…..
The whole book thing was confusing in some ways. It was played as if the first person to get the book would get them all and thus would be the only one to see the contents of all the books. After Santa made his appeal so he could hear Sayoko’s message, the book thing was immediately dropped and forgotten, which is a shame.
Actually, we don’t know the specifics of any of the books, and like other things, that too has been forgotten. 🙁

Kuromaru looked more feminine when she was rocking the bifauxnen.
The dress simply screams trap.
It also looks like Akamatsu is avoiding her backstory and wings.
He may also have a cold and miss 103. I think this would be a first for Sensei to miss a deadline due to illness.
He’s rather notorious about avoiding backstory. After all, the more backstory you reveal, the more limited you are in what you can do.
So 103 may be delayed. And we are coming into that time of the year when chapters are delayed due to magazines not being published for holidays.

Yea! Finally after soo many chapters of waiting and having already figured out Kuromaru’s gender, its finally officially happened! Kuromaru can now move on with her life, knowing her gender. Also Karin’s fore-sight was right from the beginning when she first saw Kuromaru. Considering Kirie’s tough stance on things, she has a compassionate side if she helped Kuromaru dress and yet knowing this adds to the competition for Touta with Kuromaru’s chosen female gender. I guess Kuromaru will be wearing the maids uniform from now. It now kinda adds another reason to why Touta had to stay at Senkyokan.
Kuroumaru acted like a girl in several ways from the start, but especially in how she held up a towel when bathing. And yeah, Karin could spot it immediately, forcing Kuroumaru to admit to not having a gender at that time.
OMG! I-is Kuro-chan a girl now? Squee! That payoff for all the Touta/Kuro ship tease I was talking about last week may end up happening after all.

Technically, he already has done with Ayaka showing her card. Until now, we weren’t sure if the pactio system was still in place or not. Now we know it is and that Ayaka’s card still works.
That being said, I don’t want Touta to be a Magister. He’s not a mage and can’t cast spells, so he shouldn’t be allowed to be a Magister. A Minister, sure.
Touta being Eva’s Minister is probably one way Touta can redefine his relationship with Eva, though probably not the way he most prefers. Still, it’s one possible, and interesting solution to putting some kind of definition to Eva and Touta’s relationship.
mmm .. to seal a pactio with a kiss. That would create a issue with the girls and Touta. I’m already imagining the stress Kuromaru will have when she and Touta has to kiss. But yikes, it means Touta as a magister!
I agree that Touta is not the magister and more minister. No way close to a Magister or a mage. I’m wondering if there is going to be a ‘power-up’ again that makes him one…
I don’t remember Eva/Kitty/Yukihime having a pactio with Negi too. Its a possibility of Eva having one with Touta if pactios are made.
BUT … Konaka Konoe became a magister — and supposed/assumed spouse was Setsuna — so there is a possibility that the twins may be magisters…. to be seen.
Since Ayaka showed/used her card, it was assumed that it also means that Negi is still alive someplace, which is part of the main story line…. I think.
There are two more characters in the original UQ pic, not shown yet, what appears to be a guy with a sword and possibly blind, and another blonde that is similar to Yukihime, I was thinking possibly Tsukuyomi but that is just my speculation. It isn’t Kuromaru, for he’s still male in the pic.
Alot more to be seen in this series.
Fate said he needed Touta to free Nagi and Negi. So if Touta is the key, then there might be changes as the story unfolds.
