UQ Holder Chapter 136 SPOILER Images

Here are some SPOILER images for the upcoming UQ Holder Chapter 136, courtesy of 2Cat.  (My review of UQ Holder Chapter 136 should come out as soon as they appear on Crunchyroll, depending on when Crunchyroll publishes the chapter. Hopefully on the 8th.)

UQ HOLDER Chapter 136 SPOILERS

The UQ Holder Chapter 136 goodness begins. I’m shocked the spoilers came out so early. I wasn’t planning to start looking for them until May 1. ^_^;  By the way, more NSFW stuff, which I’ll wrap in spoiler tags. Actually, to preserve how they were originally posted and make it easier on myself, I’m going to do everything but first and last image into the spoiler tags.

And the Negima! element.

UQ Holder Chapter 136

So, Kirie and Touta go to Kyoto. I bet anything, that’s Eva (as Yukihime) who shows up in the doorway. She’d be the most likely candidate to talk to Touta and Kirie about the Kyoto trip (and how awesome Eva was there) and Negi. (And Nagi, since this was his place.) That’s what I’m hoping. Otherwise, if Kirie and Touta stopped time, then it could be Cutlass.

That aside, Akamatsu-sensei really is pushing the Kirie x Touta ship. Good grief.

More updates, if warranted.

Good grief, indeed. Mizore is love, Mizore is life, Mizore is actually entertaining (even though she’s the only character archetype, in UQ holder Ken can seem to ‘write’ properly; even though
her personality is recycled from Ayaka.)

Ethics/mortality aside. The intent of fanservice, in its pejorative form; is to titillate(or the Pathos of Eros). Frankly, since Akamatsu-Sensei, went digital I’m not feeling his artwork in this regard. (with the the exception of Karin’s lingerie in the 90’s) Probably, because it feels as if the characters have a persistent figurine anatomy. Subsequently, theirs no convection in the implication(s) of nudity.

Rather early Spoiler images, perhaps Akamatsu-Sensei has finally wrestled the dissonance of weekly to a monthly schedule, on top of the ever important production meetings for the anime.

Also, a customer to Kyoto=Konoka appearing soon?! Or typical meaningless reference/cameo. At minimum, I would expect a case mistaken identity, where Touta gets whisked away to Konoka’s (mountain top/high vantage) mansion a gets greeted by a bunch of maids and Touta sneezes and strips them all.

Yeah, I like Mizore as well. Her role seems limited to just stirring the harem pot, at least so far.

I was reminded that Golden Week is coming in Japan, hence the early arrival of the chapter to allow folks to take vacations. At least in a monthly series, there are no skipped chapters unless it is something major.

We’ll see, though Konoka would be old like Ayaka. And I doubt she’d be alone, if she’s still alive.

Ugh. I think I’m going to hold off on reading this manga for a bit and hope after a few months we’ll be past this….

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

Haha! Well, there is some plot stuff coming into play here, based on the last page of the chapter.

Kirie’s imagination is reaching an extreme level, she wants him so bad,
It seems like she is in her teens XD (Insert song ‘In the heat of the night’ from Sandra here XD)

“I bet anything, that’s Eva (as Yukihime) who shows up in the doorway.”
If you look at those clothes, it’s like a sleeveless dress, Evangeline doesn’t wear it, unless she has changed it. I would like the person to be her, though)

All this is Karin’s fault, that’s why the poor Kirie acts that way (Karin will NEVER give up her desire to have Evangeline for herself lol)

PS: Cutlass is still waiting standing up on the corner of UQ Holder XD

Yeah, it most likely won’t be Eva even though that’s whom I like it to be.

Heh! Touta will eventually wear Karin down. 😉

      😆 Awesome!

i think it could be setsuna

    • LoneWolfx03 -]===- says:

I’m thinking the same too. Either Setsuna/Konoka/Tsukuyomi, any party or member of ala alba/rubra, kyoto relative, or just another clone of the Konoe family (maybe I should add a Aoyama/Shinmeiryuu members to guard there).

Somehow, Ken may have a hard time inserting the missing UQ holder members because the running of the plot has reach to a crucial part of unveiling the secrets. He has to make a new arc to introduce the new characters (which at this point i don’t want it right now…)

      • AstroNerdBoy says:

I like Setsuna since she should be like Mana — an adult woman, but still fairly young in appearance. Konoka should be elderly at best. Tsukuyomi would be an unexpected choice. Considering Fate’s attachment to Negi, he might have dispatched Tsukuyomi to see who was checking out Nagi’s house.

Akamatsu-sensei made some mistakes early on. I think the manga would have been better served if the journey to UQH with Eva, Kuroumaru, and Touta had been longer. Not only that, but it could have been a way to show Touta about immortality. Also, we could have used the trip to get the flashback story of Eva, to include stuff about Negi. Then once they reached UQH, the others could have been introduced in various ways. But Akamatsu-sensei cut the trip short, turned Touta into Super Touta, and things just were kinda “meh.”

That said, you are right in that the current plot is not really geared to introducing those other UQH members. Everything is about the Negima story that wasn’t finished.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

That would be cool, especially since her mini-clone is about somewhere.

  5. It’s either Setsuna – who could still be alive given she’s part-tengu – as she used to prefer male clothes when in her bodyguard role for Konoka by the end of Negima, or some guy. It looks like that person is wearing a vest with a white shit underneath and by what can be seen of their figure, it’s either male or somewhat flat.
Frankly, there are several guys that had been hinted to be part of UQ Holder in the first volume when various methods of immortality were listed, but only a couple actually showed up.
I doubt it’s Chao since she’s probably not even born yet – or cloned, as the situation may be.
Or, quite likely, it might be the person from whom Touta received his Konoe DNA. It’s in Kyoto, after all. It could be Konoka’s grandson.

  6. McQueen says:

Kirie has the body of a child, so these naked scenes do feel a little creepy and over exadurated.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

Yeah, I hear ya. Akamatsu-sensei has done this before, via Eva, although not to this extreme (at least in Negima). But after he had Eva mostly take the adult Yukihime form, I guess Kirie became his favorite loli target. And unlike Mizore, who is a minor in the story, Kirie is probably an adult. That’s how these authors usually get around the loli issue — make the loli and adult and then any legal issues are lessened.

      • sanchi says:

We really don’t know much about Mizore either. She’s smart, rich, and in some ways feels entitled. She appears to be a child/minor as in size and appearence, but she seems to know alot more than she admits, and seems much more mature at times too, as seen in her smiles when Tota notices her. Smart as in how to drive and good enough to race in a water bike is a good example, and how she is perceptive and asking questions when things happen. I do like her because she speaks what she is thinking, and asks questions that I had in my mind while reading the chapters. Add that two of the richest girls are after Tota.

        • AstroNerdBoy says:

We really don’t know much about Mizore either. She’s smart, rich, and in some ways feels entitled.

True. And in a fashion normal for Akamatsu-sensei, we probably won’t learn much more about her.

          • sanchi says:

Yes …. I very much agree… i.e. we were told about the nude walk Shinobu and Mizore had to do as losers of the race, than reading and seeing it happen in the manga. To me Tota got off of it easy, and should have been one of them too. Two thirds of him lost. With this latest chapter, if they did do a few frames of their walk around the island, it would fit what we are seeing in the manga right now.

          • AstroNerdBoy says:

Yep. In doing this, we had a violation of the show don’t tell rule.

          • OverMaster says:

I can’t reply to Sanchi directly due to the site’s format, but when he says ” To me Tota got off of it easy, and should have been one of them too. Two thirds of him lost”, considering he saved everyone’s life by being the one who actually stalled Negi the longest, I’d say he more than earned a break from any punishments.

          • AstroNerdBoy says:

What was stopping you from direct replying to him?

          • sanchi says:

From OverMaster’s view, yes, Tota did do quite a bit in the battle with Negi and his crew. No disagreement on what he did from my side. Yes he deserves to rest and recover. I agree with OverMaster. But…

But there are other viewpoints – and I … maybe I should clarify .. that I know a bunch of people who in conversations are serious in their ‘bets’ or gambling and will get their pound of flesh if its part of the pay-off, basically its the straight black and white, they lost the bet, and even there was a world ending fight as part of the results, or even if it was said in fun, its a totally different matter. A bet is a bet and the girls lost the race. Pay-up! — which I get very un-sure before agreeing to bet against these guys that I know if there is a remote chance I would lose. These guys are much bigger than me too so it doesn’t help.

Negi’s interference and battle is not a consideration. The bet was who the winner is and what the losers said they would do. Tota goes berserk with Magia Erebea (sp?) Tota fought the blind swordsman and the werewolf and saved a orphanage. He still has to pay 2 Million Yen for the damages he created to the surrounding buildings from the resulting battle. But he saved the orphanage. I thought at first Makabe was going to give Tota another bill like the one he gave Tota after the blind swordsman’s fight, but it was a vacation/time off and not a bill.

So in their opinion, Tota should have been there with them – joining them in the walk based on the principle of the bet even if he wasn’t required, or better, have himself broken into three and two of him does that walk out of fairness. One comment was ” if Tota was with Mizore and Shinobu doing that walk they would have a bit more respect for Tota, for his willingness to do that in spite of all the other things that happened as to support them as a friend and to be there.” It would have been a bit awkward as far as nudity, but there is something about being loyal to your friends.

Then my mind commented to myself, ‘geez, these guys are tooo serious’. Its a manga. But they got over it, waiting for the next chapter.

        • OverMaster says:

The thing that baffles me about Mizore is where her parents are supposed to be, and why do they and her grandmother just let her run around doing whatever she wants even in races where public nudity exposure before worldwide TV live transmission is a thing that exists.

And where’s Chachamaru, for that matter? She’s supposed to be Mizore’s nanny of sorts, but she’s never around her since she went to the inn. Of course, she can just be looking after Ayaka instead, but considering Mizore, by direct association to UQ Holder, is far closer to serious danger than Ayaka, that excuse just doesn’t sound too correct either. Doesn’t Ayaka have other servants who can look after her?

It’s like Akamatsu for some reason just wants to keep Evangeline and Chachamaru away from each other despite it making no sense. I don’t think they’ve even mentioned each other through the whole manga, which is unexplainable considering how close they were in Negima.

          • sanchi says:

Part of a reason could be from the first chapter showing Eva leaving behind chachazero. The dialog says:

But, when you are living a long life, before you know it… you’ll be on your own at the end. No, even before that you’ll grow tired of the things you loved. Devotion and attachment become impossible. You’ll rapidly just about forget everything. Bringing up such things isn’t worth it anymore.

Chachamaru and Eva may have just drifted apart with time, or Chachamaru may have just moved on or taken in by Ayaka or given by Eva to Ayaka as a caregiver than being a nanny for Mizore. Another good story to learn about…if ever.

          • AstroNerdBoy says:

And I hated Akamatsu-sensei for doing that to Chachazero. He shoved her aside because she’d steal the manga and not allow Touta to shine.

That said, clearly Chachamaru moved on to an extent in that she worked for Negi. However, Chachamaru and Eva were part of Negi’s Ala Alba team along with Manga and Fate and others (if my memory is correct). I like to think that Chachamaru and Eva are still close, even if Chachamaru is Ayaka’s caretaker. But these characters would take away from Touta as MC, so they have to be kept on the shelf.

          • OverMaster says:

            Sanchi:

“But, when you are living a long life, before you know it… you’ll be on your own at the end. No, even before that you’ll grow tired of the things you loved. Devotion and attachment become impossible. You’ll rapidly just about forget everything. Bringing up such things isn’t worth it anymore.”

But this speech is bull, and frankly it tells more of Evangeline’s own selfishness and inability to connect with people than with any morals immortals should follow. First, Chachamaru is not a ‘thing’, she is a person with feelings and opinions of her own. Second, if Evangeline really feels that way she should just either find a way to kill herself or isolate herself from everyone and lead a hollow, empty existence forever instead of fooling around with associations of immortals and even shipping them with each other. It just makes her a hideous hypocrite who goes off on edgy rants on how lonely and miserable she is when it’s all her fault over discarding friendships with people who still are around.

Not to mention we haven’t seen Chachamaru’s side of things either. Is she okay with having been dumped just because Evangeline felt like it? Did Eva even worry about Chachamaru’s own feelings on the subject before going away, or about Chachazero’s opinions on being deactivated as a living sapient being before being turned off?

Any misery and existential vacuum Eva feels are brought upon herself all on her own, because she still has lots of highly devoted and loving people willing to do anything for her and she still discards them callously just because of an ill defined self-serving ideology to justify her own nihilism. I can’t feel sympathy for her or justify her actions with speeches like this.

          • AstroNerdBoy says:

First, Chachamaru is not a ‘thing’,

In my mind, Chachazero wasn’t just a thing. She had a life and a doll contract with Eva, even with her own artifact. She had a personality and could act on her own, providing there was enough magic around to allow her to move. I loved Chachazero as a character. However, I think Akamatsu-sensei “killed” her because she’s a scene stealer.

          • AstroNerdBoy says:

The thing that baffles me about Mizore is where her parents are supposed to be, and why do they and her grandmother just let her run around doing whatever she wants even in races where public nudity exposure before worldwide TV live transmission is a thing that exists.

Haha! And based on how Akamatsu-sensei operates, those are answers we’ll never know.

And where’s Chachamaru, for that matter? She’s supposed to be Mizore’s nanny of sorts, but she’s never around her since she went to the inn.

One of the things that irritated me was that we didn’t have Touta meet up with them when they arrived. Akamatsu-sensei violated the show don’t tell rule by dumping Mizore into the manga with minimal explanation. In my mind, we are supposed to assume that Ayaka brought Mizore over and placed her under Eva’s care. The exact why, other than Mizore’s claiming to make Touta her husband, is unknown.

It’s like Akamatsu for some reason just wants to keep Evangeline and Chachamaru away from each other despite it making no sense. I don’t think they’ve even mentioned each other through the whole manga, which is unexplainable considering how close they were in Negima.

Well, exactly. And that was another reason I was so irritated when we didn’t see Chachamaru reunite with Eva.

Sometimes, I think the problem is that Akamatsu-sensei works under the premise that Touta MUST be at the center of everything, otherwise it isn’t worth looking at. The only time he’s really violated that was when Touta was briefly put out of action in the Santa arc, where Santa got a chance to shine. No wonder his character has the most development of the entire cast. However, Touta had to come back to the front and Santa has mostly had no role since.

          • sanchi says:

Both Chachamaru and Chachazero are individual characters, each with their own personalities. I agree with both ANB and OverMaster. But that can be from our own perspective looking at them. Eva, who created both of them, may see them more as a object or thing than a individual, since she created them. I’m not saying I personally agree with this, but I get that impression from how Eva treats both of them as a created object and they are doing what they have been directed to do. (The bad is I know some parents that treat their kid less as a person too). In a sense as bond servants, and as a created robot whose primary duty is to unconditionally serve and be loyal to Eva. Eva also stated about being a very good puppetmaster. This could have been Eva’s initial training before creating or developing her branch of UQ too, to develop her ability to lead, manage, control, and develop Chachamaru and Chachazero, to eventually be able to lead others or a organization. I also have the impression is that at some point Eva releases both robots of any loyalty or obligation to her, and allows them to live independent and free from her to choose on their own to what they want.

It may have been the influence of Nagi and Negi that Eva started UQ, if she did start UQ. She was living a hollow and miserable life with a price for her head. All she stated was this was the small Japan branch of a global UQ organization. It is unclear if she is head of the whole thing and not just the Japan branch. Would the MotB defeat all of UQ if they all showed up? Nagi and Negi did encourage her to do some good with her immortality, and to do good and help others in need, as Jinbei kinda explained to Tota what UQ was about in the early chapters.

The impression I got from Eva’s initial intro is that immortals have limitless time. But normal people and their own creations age and fade away from importance after a time and nothing lasts forever. From a immortal view. So UQ was created for immortals so that it was no longer a lonely existence but one with others of the same nature, and giving a direction or focus to do something, and to support each other. But what immortals do with their time, as in hijinks and while trying to do the right thing for the planet was the focus of the manga. Now its the continuation of Negima.

It would be nice to see the perspective thoughts from Chachamaru and even Zazie or Mana, but this is Tota’s journey, and that is all we are going to see. As ANB has pointed out many characters fall short. Remember that immediate supervisor in the pin-striped coat that was blonde like Fate at Senkyokan when Tota first started? That was just right before Kirie was introduced. He hasn’t been drawn for awhile.

          • AstroNerdBoy says:

Chachazero was a doll, not a robot. She was apparently ensouled as she had her own personality and such. She could operate somewhat independently of Eva (or so it appeared). But the way Akamatsu-sensei showed how Eva rid herself of Chachazero irks me. Chachamaru wasn’t abandoned. Chachamaru “grew up” and moved on (with Eva’s blessing).

Reading your comments, now I’m wanting Akamatsu-sensei to tell the backstory of Eva founding UQ Holder.

  7. Rob C, says:

Akamatsu seems to lost his way lately. I wonder if someone supplying him with bas advice,

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

Well, I think it is more that he wanted to do something different, yet within the universe he’d created. I think he wanted to do adventure stories like Fairy Tail, connected with only a loose plot thread. However, because UQ Holder is connected to Negima, fans didn’t want that. So he’s been dragged back to the Negima stuff to try to resolve the main plot thread there if nothing else.

  8. sanchi says:

I keep looking at that Negima! related spoiler page. It shows at least one clean and tidy room, barely furnished but it has a humongous shelf filled with books, and a table with pics of Negi’s class. No TV or anything audio-visual, but basic furniture to sit on. Quite minimal, and my mind comes up with one idea, as in recluse. If Tota follows Negi’s directions to follow his footsteps, it seems this is a first step – seeing where he was living, and information if any to be gathered from his former residence, about that space port and Negi’s research.

I can agree with the others in who it could be at the door. But somehow I am also thinking it might be a good time to introduce a new character from the promo that has some ties with the class and close to Negi and Nagi, and a recluse too. Then I thought of Chisame that would fit it too. Its a long shot, and probably wrong as in way way out. IF Negi did get hitched with Chisame at the end of Negima, could that person at the door also be possibly related or even a look-alike to Chisame, or if they had a daughter that would put her age at or somewhat less than 30 yrs. This idea falls short, because I didn’t see any computers so far, other than what Santa had, and Chisame was a computer geek.

I need to read the chapter.

Yes, which is another reason why I think Arika is a retcon. Everything about Nagi’s life (as this was Nagi’s house, and Eva knew about it) suggested not being married with a kid. Why have a house like that in Kyoto, especially since it doesn’t seem like something for him and a wife? But I digress…

Otherwise, Negi left it pretty much the same as his father, sans the new photos.

      • OverMaster says:

Could Arika even come to Earth in the first place? She was a Mundus Magicus native, and it’s unclear how long the Immigration Program allowing Mundus Magicus’ denizens to have bodies able to survive on Earth has been active.

That poses the question why he wasn’t living in Mundus Magicus with his wife, of course. But let’s be honest, we’ll never get answers to relevant things like those because it’s more important wasting pages and pages on Kirie’s nudity.

        • Dargor says:

Arika was on earth during the fight against Secundum and his cohorts, so yeah, she was there. Not living on MM in the first place makes sense given that she’s supposed to be dead and all. Didn’t work of course, but y’know.

          • AstroNerdBoy says:

True. But where was she when Eva hung out with Ala Rubra? How did Eva not even know about Arika until she got told the story? Those are things I’ve not liked about Arika being inserted into the story.

        • AstroNerdBoy says:

Could Arika even come to Earth in the first place?

She was on Earth with Nagi, as I understand it. She was the one who rescued him that one time. Al was in book form and complaining that using his humanoid form took a lot of effort. (Chapter 326) They didn’t have Jack with them because Jack couldn’t come to Earth. Arika was “real” in that she was a human, but a native of Mars.

That poses the question why he wasn’t living in Mundus Magicus with his wife, of course. But let’s be honest, we’ll never get answers to relevant things like those because it’s more important wasting pages and pages on Kirie’s nudity.

Haha! Well, there’s that, but Arika is something I believe is akin to a major retcon. Although Akamatsu-sensei spent a ton of time on her, he carefully avoided dealing with the areas where having her around conflicted with his established narrative. The closet he got was having Eva make a casual realization that Arika was why she wasn’t able to snag Nagi. However, it seems impossible that Eva wouldn’t have known of Arika. It seems impossible that Arika wouldn’t have been as famous as her husband, so why did no one in Negi’s village talk about her? Why did Negi never mention her before coming to Mars? Where was Arika when Eva was hanging with Ala Rubra?

      • sanchi says:

A reason I could think of – to answer why have a room like this, is to have a ‘safe’ house where its a place one can go and hide if needed. I can’t read korean, so I don’t know the conversation or how this hide-out or apartment was discovered. It wasn’t meant to be used as a family dwelling. Books are a way of passing time quietly reading than watching TV or listening to something like music, moreso if someone is doing some kind of research, and these are or may appear to be reference books or a library of some sort and it may be related to what Nagi and maybe Negi were working on at a certain time. It wasn’t a place to have or raise a family, but a place considered safe from being discovered by the persons one is hiding from.

The only thing missing would be how to escape from this ‘safe’ house, and maybe that may be soon revealed. If they can jump or fly, going to another balcony is easy enough to escape too.

        • AstroNerdBoy says:

The official English chapter called the place a workshop, but as I recall, in Negima, it was described as Nagi’s residence in Kyoto. Still, one would think that if Nagi could have pictures of his crew, he’d have pictures of his wife there too.

Chapter isn’t out yet, quite annoying.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

I think it will be out on the 8th.

    • Mattcgw says:

Chapter, took alot longer than usual to come out. I think it’s because the chapter is actually HD, either 720 or 1080p.

Akamatsu-Sensei has almost nailed the composition of a monthly chapter.

      • AstroNerdBoy says:

I know that on my home computer, the image sizes can be large (and clear). However, what irks me is that once CR is delayed, they don’t post the chapter immediately. They still make folks wait until 5pm their time for whatever late day they publish the chapter on. 🙄

Someone took the time to draw scenic backdrops. Very detailed buildings and structures and even the food looked really nice – impressive. Looks like the trains haven’t changed very much over time, kinda antique considering its supposed to be way in the future. Though I like Kirie, it seems too much of her lately.

    Well, it’s out.
Its semi-plot/character building story with semi-cliff hangar. It’s bit of a disappointing character building but if the story has more milage to go (more chapters left) then it’s fine.
For Kirie, we learned more about her immortality and that she’s accepted a role in Touta’s harem, but that was about it. It will be interesting to see who’s at the door.
