Mass Killing at KyoAni Studio in Japan

Mass Killing at KyoAni Studio in Japan

Horrible news gang. A 41-year man has been arrested in Japan for allegedly setting fire to the Kyoto Animation (KyoAni) building in Kyoto. As of this post, 33 people have been died in this mass killing. Another 36 people are injured according to a report from AP.

Reports are stating that the suspect was dumping the flammable liquid (likely gasoline) while screaming “You die!”

This is all so jacked up. Obviously the person who did this is mentally unstable. I cannot fathom going out and killing a ton of people like this. It is just shockingly, horrifying to me. ‘

KyoAni has done a lot of great anime over the years. Some of the titles I’ve watched (where they were the primary production company) are Air, Clannad, Clannad After Story, Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid, Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, Kanon, Kiddy Grade, Kimagure Orange Road: Summer’s Beginning, Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai! (all series),  The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and Nurse Witch Komugi-chan.

Of course, they’ve done so many more titles as the primary production company, and even more work where they were part of the support hired by another production company.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of this horrible, senseless mass killing.
