Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:

Kaguya wakes and retreats from Nasa. She’s annoyed, but this sees her centipede is running amuck. Hakase makes a panic call to Kaguya, who’s controller for the mechanical beast no longer works. As such, she gives Tsukasa permission to destroy its head. Nasa witnesses his wife being fully athletic, taking a sword and decapitating the giant centipede.

Afterward, Hotaru and Jessie are not happy with Hakase when they learn everything was staged. Tsukasa asks about Kaguya, who’s already gone home. Hakase states that it will take three years to edit the film.

That night at home, Nasa and Tsukasa talk about their adventure. Tsukasa teases Nasa for being scared of the dark. Nasa asks Tsukasa her thoughts on ghosts. She states she wants to meet one someday and talk to them. But no ghosts appeared, so she doesn’t believe ghosts exist. Since Tsukasa looks lonely, Nasa kisses her.

Thoughts/Review:

Man, I’m so far behind. That aside, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 131 wraps up the Sanzenin Mansion arc. And I’m as disappointed as Tsukasa that a certain ghost didn’t show up. But it was still a fun chapter.

Tsukasa and Kaguya

We finally had a confrontation between Kaguya and Tsukasa in the previous chapter. I was hoping for some continuation on this front in Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 131. However, I forgot that Hata-sensei is writing this title. As such, he was going to avoid giving us more information. The result of which meant that the first time Tsukasa tries to talk to her, there’s an interruption. Then the second time, Kaguya conveniently goes home.

I figure it will be months (in real time, not manga time) before Hata-sensei provides more information about their relationship. While I don’t want the story to race to an end, sometimes it is a bit frustrating to be constantly teased.

No Ghosts for You!

I have to say that I was disappointed that there wasn’t a supernatural element in Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 131. From previous Hata-sensei works, including Hayate the Combat Butler, there has been a supernatural element. Since Nagi’s mansion was the setting, and the ghost Father Radiostar used to live there, I was hoping we’d see him. Or if not him, something supernatural.

Tsukasa’s wistful remarks on wanting to meet ghosts reminded me Minori’s conversation with Ryuuji in Toradora! But unlike there, I think Tsukasa was speaking literally rather than figuratively. If Tsukasa is immortal, she may be thinking of friends long gone as she speaks of her desire to meet a ghost.

Still, unless Father Radiostar has finally passed on, she could still meet a ghost. I’d love for that to happen.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

Let me wrap up my review of Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 131 with some final thoughts.

  • Kaguya’s expenditures already show she’s well off in terms of money. But when she easily agrees to pay for damage at the mansion, one wonders if she’s as rich as Nagi was.
  • I loved seeing Tsukasa once again act like Hina from Hayate the Combat Butler. This came from how she effortlessly leapt out of the upper story mansion window, then easily beheaded the mechanical centipede.

Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 131

In the end, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 131 wraps up the current story arc, but only teased us with actual plot information. Still, it was a fun chapter for what it was.
