Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:

Nasa has memory fragments from his time of lost memories, proving to him that they exist. As such, he heads out to where he first saw Tsukasa and was hit by a truck. He then follows the path to the enclosed bus stop, where Tsukasa was sitting. However, none of this triggers any additional memories.

Kaguya shows up, asking him if he found what he was looking for. She cryptically states that voices in her head sometimes tell her to come here. Nasa explains his situation. Kaguya informs Nasa that she has a solution — using her tech to punch him insanely hard. She knocks Nasa out, where he hears voices before waking in his abode.

Hotaru is there and asks if he’s OK. Kaguya is also there and unimpressed. She offers to punch Nasa again since he regained no memories. Hotaru stops her, stating there are other ways to cause people to remember. With that, Hotaru and Kaguya leave. Nasa pulls out a photo album and realizes that in two months, all of his memories with Tsukasa have really piled up.

Thoughts/Review:

Hata-sensei takes a more comedic line with Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 144. But that’s not a bad thing.

Nasa’s Memory Journey

I’m annoyed that Tsukasa is putting Nasa through this journey to regain his memories. I couldn’t help but feel sorry for him as he revisited the area where he had the accident and then ultimately confessed to Tsukasa. Granted, Hata-sensei used this moment to give the audience a recap of things about Tsukasa and the mystery surrounding her.

I also felt bad for Nasa as he looked through their photos and thought about his absent wife. Tsukasa was unreasonable to leave in my opinion. But I guess Nasa has to go through this pain as part of a hero’s journey so…

The comedic aspect in this chapter is having Kaguya show up and perform her version of a rocket punch to try to trigger Nasa’s memories. Interestingly enough, when he’s knocked out, he hears a voice that apparently talked to him when he passed out after his initial encounter with Tsukasa. I wonder if that is Kaguya, or the voice Kaguya says she hears from time to time.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

In the end, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 144 continues Nasa’s attempt to recover his lost memories, with a side of comedy from Kaguya.
