Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:

Nasa and Tsukasa return to the guest house they’ve been living at. Tsukasa notes how messy the place has become, but she also sees photos of herself all over. She suggests they clean up since they’ll soon be moving. Nasa informs Tsukasa that the move is off since she wasn’t there when the paperwork for the new lease was to be delivered. As such, since Nasa didn’t know when Tsukasa was coming back, he canceled the move.

Tsukasa apologizes. However, Nasa thinks staying at the bathhouse guest house is best. They start to kiss when Kaname burst in on them. Aya also shows up and lets it out that Nasa had high school girls in the room. Kaname leads Aya out of the room as Tsukasa teases Nasa a bit over having high school girls over.

Tsukasa thanks her husband for not letting her go. They start to kiss again when Chitose shows up.

Thoughts/Review:

It was nice seeing Tsukasa and Nasa back home in Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 149. However, there was one somewhat surprising development.

Back for Good

I’d kind of wondered how this manga series would progress if Nasa and Tsukasa moved into the new apartment on the site of Nasa’s old apartment. Hata-sensei answered that question in Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 149 by not having them move at all. On one hand, I’m kind of bummed out by their not moving. I was kind of interested in seeing their life away from the bathhouse, yet still being involved there (Tsukasa working at the place, Nasa working out of the old guest house).

Still, if Nasa and Tsukasa moved away, you remove some of the comedy material of people bursting in on them. Ultimately, I think that’s why Hata-sensei decided to just keep them where they are.

Maybe Nasa and Tsukasa can update the place with some modern things.

The Comedy Returns

While Hata-sensei doesn’t like to stray too far from the comedic path, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 149 allows him to go at things full bore. As such, we get the traditional Kaname moment of her busting on on Nasa and Tsukasa kissing, then making some sly comment about it. Then we had Aya come in and cause her typical brand of comedy by stating facts in a misleading way.

Of course at the end, we see Chitose bursting in on Nasa and Tsukasa attempting to kiss. Her reactions usually make me chuckle.

As an aside, I hope Hata-sensei shows how Chitose came to be rescued by Tsukasa and thus live with her at Tokiko’s home. Ditto those wacky maids of hers.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

In the end, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 149 was a fun chapter, returning things to status quo and injecting a lot of humor to counter the recent darkness.
