Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:

Nasa visits Nakiri’s store for some parts and learns he’ll have to wait a while to get them. Nakiri slyly asks about Nasa’s married life. He responds that it is sensual, recalling the night before.

After leaving her shop, Nasa gets a text from his mom. She wants him to perform the maintenance and cleaning of the family grave. As such, Nasa returns home to inform Tsukasa. Nasa doesn’t know who all is buried there, but begins speaking of his deceased grandfather. One specific memory Nasa has of his grandfather was when his pet cat died. But he can’t remember everything said.

Tsukasa suggests he go to his grandfather’s grave and apologize. Further, she’s going with Nasa as she is part of the Yuzaki family now. Nasa decides to text his dad about his dad’s dad. Unfortunately, Nasa’s dad doesn’t have much as his father didn’t talk much.

As Nasa and Tsukasa take off, Nasa ponders on how little is remembered about his grandfather. But with Tsukasa, she remembers everything over the last 1400 years. In time, Nasa hopes to discover his wife’s past over time.

Thoughts/Review:

It looks like Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 213 is setting up a new story arc. I think this is the first that we’ve heard about Nasa’s grandfather. Generally speaking, Hata-sensei doesn’t introduce a new character like this without some greater purpose. As such, I expect that whatever Nasa has forgotten now will be remembered, maybe at the graveyard. And then that will give him a means of asking Tsukasa something about her past. But we’ll see where things go.

Still, I wonder why Nasa’s grandfather was so distant from his family, for the most part. So I’m looking forward to learning more.

Beyond that, Hata-sensei brought back Nakiri for an extended cameo, to remind us she still exists. However, the parts Nasa needs are tied to the main plot, so it is a clever way to let us see Nakiri again.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

In the end, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 213 was fine as a setup to the trip to the Yuzaki grave site.
