Keroro Gunsou Episode 132
ケロロ軍曹/Sgt. Frog Anime Review
SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:
A group of graduating, alien assassins are sent to Earth to battle the Keroro platoon. Four of the students are easily thwarted, mostly by accident. The final, Chuton, is up against Dororo. Despite having ninja skills, Chuton knows he’s not up to the task. As such, Dororo tells Koyuki he will challenge Chuton. After an extended fight where Chuton is on the defense, Dororo calls it a draw. Later, he tells Koyuki why.
A blue bird saying “Na-chi” is outside Natsumi’s bedroom. Natsumi wants to keep it as a pet, but Keroro reminds her that her mom (Aki) won’t approve. As such, Natsumi tries to find a place to hide the bird, but there is no good place. When Aki comes home, the bird escapes and gets out of the house. Natsumi and others go to look for the bird.
When they come home, Aki reports it returned. She agrees to allow Natsumi to keep it. However, Dororo and Koyuki show up and report it is another person’s pet. After returning the bird, Giroro and the platoon dress up as blue birds to cheer up Natsumi.
Thoughts/Review:
Two harmless stories in Keroro Gunsou Episode 132. On the comedy front, I will admit the alien losing to Keroro was funny. That’s because the door that opens to Keroro’s room opened in one way, smashing into the alien. And then when the alien shifts to the other side, the door inexplicably opens that way when Natsumi comes in. Unexpected slapstick humor usually gets me to laugh.
The Dororo aspect of the story has the message for the kids — don’t give up before you’ve even started. Thankfully, we got a flashback of Dororo’s past where he doesn’t experience trauma. So there’s that.
The second story is pretty much forgettable. I’ve never heard of blue birds acting like parrots. That aside, while the story was harmless, it felt forced. What I mean is, the writers went, “We need a Natsumi story. What can we do? How about a blue bird flying into her room, and she immediately wants it as a pet? Yeah, that’s the ticket!” However, I found the story to be kinda boring.
Final Thoughts and Conclusion
In the end, Keroro Gunsou Episode 132 had some humor, fluff, and harmless, forgettable stuff.
