Spoiler Summary/Synopsis

As Akane observes, female Ranma trains with Ryouga for the Martial Arts Rhythmic Gymnastics event. Eventually, Ryouga convinces Akane to go to bed while he and female Ranma continue to train. The next morning, Akane hobbles over to the dojo to discover female Ranma and Ryouga still at it. Akane gets the exhausted, female Ranma to St. Hebereke’s School for Girls, where Kodachi immediately starts her dirty tricks.

Meanwhile, Ryouga arrives at the school, only to get splashed with water to become a pig. Kodachi captures him to use in the match. When they go to the ring, female Ranma decides to use his real name and gets away with it. However, Kodachi distracts female Ranma long enough to chain him to P-chan. After a very long battle, where Kodachi cheats like mad, female Ranma eventually wins. Kodachi agrees to leave Ranma-sama, but then declares her love anew, stunning Akane and Ranma.

Thoughts/Review

Not really a lot to talk about in Ranma 1/2 07. Ignoring the absolute garbage subtitles, the story is fun for what it is. Kodachi has her ojousama laugh at times. She then employs every dirty and cheating tactic around to defeat female Ranma. But in the end, Ranma wins because he must. Still, it was an entertaining romp.

HAYASHIBARA Megumi gets almost all of the Ranma voice time in this episode. For 57 years old, she hasn’t lost a step. She still belts out the lines with all of the enthusiasm she did thirty-five years ago. Indeed, hearing her raised vocals at times made me want to go rewatch The Slayers, since she does the voice of Lina Inverse there. I’m really glad she returned for this.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

In the end, Ranma 1/2 07 was a fun romp, filled with comedic action.
