Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 101 Manga Review
フェアリーテイル 100年クエスト
SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:
The sight of the fire dragon god Ignia causes Selene to worry. She leaves the crow Shade and enters the labyrinth to deal with the threat.
In the dungeon, Ignia informs Natsu and Suzaku that he’s there to burn something. However, he won’t fight Natsu as Natsu is still too weak. Despite Suzaku’s caution, Natsu taunts Ignia. He attacks, but Ignia is unfazed. The dragon god causes a massive explosion, stunning Suzaku and Natsu, and the heat of which travels throughout the labyrinth.
Suzaku reminds Natsu that they’ve not finished their business. Natsu agrees to resume their fight once he’s saved his friends. Suzaku agrees and convinces Natsu to a partnership to help both Fairy Tail and Diabolos.
Meanwhile, Kiria decides to have some fun with Lucy by attacking her, obliterating Lucy’s clothing. Lucy equips another costume and obliterates Kiria’s clothing.
Thoughts/Review:
I find it interesting that Selene decided to go after Ignia in Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 101. So I guess that means that we are about to get a dragon fight in the near future. Meanwhile, the quest to seal all of the dragon gods isn’t forgotten, but as I previously mentioned, I get the sense that the brakes have been applied to the plot to extend the life of the manga.
Another item of interest in the chapter is the alliance that Natsu forms with Suzaku. To be honest, it fits with both of their personalities. Plus, their initial encounter wasn’t as enemies, so there’s not a foundation of antagonism between the two. So it will be interesting to see them working together. But is this the start of a Diablos redemption arc? We’ll see.
Finally, there’s Kiria and Lucy, who fought purely for fan service. Logically, when Kiria got burned by the heat blast from Ignia’s distant attack, one would think that she’d be more concerned about whatever generated that. But no, she has to be dumb for the sake of cheap fan service. Oh, and I wouldn’t have expected Kiria to be so modest when her bikini got shredded. 🤷♂️
Final Thoughts and Conclusion
In the end, the stakes get raised with Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 101. However, there’s also time for pointless fan service.
