Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 122 Manga Review
フェアリーテイル 100年クエスト
SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:
Wendy is in a thoughtful mood with the passing on of Irene. When Erza finds her, Wendy prompts her to talk about her mother. After their discussion, Wendy is able to find closure over Irene’s departure.
At Diabolos Guild, Laxus and Kirin snarl at each other, itching for a rematch. Elsewhere, Selene and Elefseria sit tensely at a table across from each other. During their discussion, Elefseria breaks down, angrily demanding Selene apologize for all the humans she killed. At the same time, he acknowledges that this won’t change anything, but his grief over lost friends from dragons over the century weighs heavily upon him.
Selene stands and makes a booming apology that breaks the tension and causes Elefseria to laugh. Elefseria also apologizes to Selene. With all that resolved, Selene wonders where the anti dragon god weapon named Athena is. Although Elefseria acknowledges one of his pupils made the weapon, he doesn’t know where Athena is.
Natsu isn’t worried about not having the weapon. However, Selene says that the metal dragon god Viernes cannot be defeated physically. It is a dragon god idea that exists without existing.
Thoughts/Review:
Although it wasn’t that much, I did appreciate Erza and Wendy remembering Irene in Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 122. So I guess that’s it for Irene then. But will Mashima-sensei find a way to still bring her back in the future? He likes to do that, even though Irene should be reborn as an infant.
The resolution between Elefseria and Selene was okay. I don’t know why they had Elefseria do a seated dogeza bow though. Selene just stood up and boomed out an apology. Whatever.
Finally, we get some new MacGuffin named Athena to deal with. Naturally, I expect some big-breasted thing that looks like a woman, but is more like Ifurita from El Hazard. That would be kinda awesome, if he goes that route.
Final Thoughts and Conclusion
In the end, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Chapter 122 continues to do the aftermath of the previous arc while laying more groundwork for the next arc.
