Keroro Gunsou episode 86

SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:

Natsumi is in the bath when the shower begins moving on its own and spraying her. Fuyuki is on the toilet and the toilet paper begins coming to him. They are freaked but Fuyuki is also excited about the possibility of a poltergeist invasion. Natsumi thinks that it is Keroro, but they soon learn that it isn’t when his Gundam model comes to life. Yuurei-chan is the next suspect, but she swears it isn’t her and is frightened. The screaming bring Giroro inside, who figures this is the work of the Akuleons, who possess homes and want to eat the people inside. After a merry chase through the house trying to escape, Keroro and Giroro eventually find themselves consumed by the vacuum. However, nothing else happens as Kururu arrives, saying this was all a failed experiment for nano technology using the Parasite Miracle GP01 to bring inanimate objects to life.

Keroro Gunsou 86

Keroro decides he needs everyone’s help to put on a show for space TV. No one wants to participate, so Keroro forces everyone into sleeper tubes where they are connected to a machine machine where a VR world is created. Here, the platoon become Kero Rangers, Moa becomes an android helper of theirs, and Fuyuki, Natsumi, and Koyuki-chan are the typical villain. Because Keroro can write his script on the fly, he can force everyone to do what he wants. The platoon soon grow weary of Keroro trying to kill them off so that Keroro can be the hero and constantly “correct” Keroro’s script. In the end, everyone’s had enough but as the scenario keeps playing, Keroro decides to take on everyone with a giant robot. The dream machine overloads though, causing everyone but Keroro to safely leave the contraption.

Thoughts/Review:

I guess in many ways, the first story is a parody of some childhood fears. I’m guessing that there are similar ones in Japan as there are in the U.S. However, as the story went, I was pretty bored with it, though I’m sure younger viewers would be entertained.

Keroro Gunsou 86

For the second story in Keroro Gunsou 86, I did enjoy it more. The Power Rangers parody was amusing, but the funny stuff came from Keroro constantly trying to give his platoon-mates tragic deaths. That said, it wasn’t that funny, more amusing I guess you’d say.
