Spy×Family CODE: White Movie Blu-Ray Review

I previously did a review on the story of Spy×Family CODE: White which you can find here. As such, I won’t be reviewing story in this review, merely the physical copy release.

What You Get

Spy×Family CODE: WhiteThe disc case for the Spy×Family CODE: White Movie comes in a slip cover. I always appreciate a slip cover for these kinds of releases as to me, it makes the disc case look nicer on my disc shelf.

The physical release comes with a blu-ray disc and a DVD disc. Both contain the same material. What is that material? The movie and an extra section, which is nothing but trailers for other releases. As such, things are bare-boned indeed, unlike the TV series releases, for which two contained a lot of extra goodies.

Visually, the blu-ray looked good on my 4K TV. If you watch in Japanese, the subtitles are easily readable, so no issues there. I didn’t touch the dub because I just can’t make myself watch it that way. That said, the English dub is here and is the default. As such, one will have to change the options to get the Japanese audio with subtitles.

Regarding the subtitles, these are the same ones that you saw on Crunchyroll, at least as far as I can tell. I didn’t go line by line, but in a spot-check, they were the same. So I can’t say whether or not text got changed from the digital version to the physical release.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

In the end, if you enjoyed Spy×Family CODE: White, then I certainly recommend purchasing the physical release.
