This time, the absence of Negima! chapter 265 isn’t due to a break by Akamatsu-sensei but rather that Weekly Shounen Magazine is not being sold this week as last week was a double issue. That being the case, I’ll post some sort of Negima! image. ^_^
I went through my collection to consider what to post this time when I saw the image of the two “forgotten” girls of Ala Alba.
I haven’t really been a fan of how the story has dealt with Anya and Asuna. I realize that they were planning to rescue Anya (and I suppose it is possible that Negi may know that the real Asuna isn’t with him as others have suggested so he may know he has to rescue Asuna as well) when the GΓΆdel sub-arc interrupted things. Akamatsu-sensei may have a flashback scene to inject planning that happened since it is clear from the last chapter that Negi has planned things out. Since we haven’t seen that planning, the manga story gives the impression that Anya has been forgotten. I get the feeling we may not even get to Anya by year’s end either.
That said, I will give Akamatsu-sensei the benefit of the doubt in that things may read out better in book form, much as they did for the Mahora Festival arc. ^_^
As to the chapter 265 spoiler images, I’ll try to keep an eye open for very early spoilers this week since the lack of images isn’t Akamatsu-sensei but the magazine not being on sale this week.
I had heard there wasn’t going to be a new chapter next week, but there wasn’t anything at the end of this week’s chapter saying so. I guess there being no WSM next week solves that mystery, huh?
Anywho, I am also curious as to when Akamatsu-sensei is going to go back to Asuna and Anya. The last we saw them was 30 chapters ago. Ch. 234 came out in the last week of November, so it’s been almost 10 months. You’d think we’ve some kind of update on what was going on with Asuna’s little mental trip thing where she started seeing her younger self. I guess that’s being saved for something big after this current mini-arc is concluded. I also hope we find out if Rakan survived his battle against Fate.
I had some theories some time ago about what could happen to Asuna and Anya.
One theory I had was this: the real Asuna that was held captive breaks free, frees Anya and escapes.
With that ball going on, a theory that floats around in my mind is that she could appear at the ball surprising AA as they see two Asunas.
I don’t think Asuna will be able to escape because she is being guarded and she does not have her card with her, she also can’t use her kanka to break free of the chains because her hand needs to be together for her to use her power.
I’m starting to think that Asuna will break free at some dramatic moment in the ball (particularly when her anti-magic is needed) because depending on where the rest of Fate’s team is, that cave could be unguarded.
It could fit in with Setsuna’s comment that Asuna’s not learning per se, but remembering things she’s forgot. Cue going up a few levels when she remembers everything about herself.
Lastly, when is anyone going to realize why there are two Ala Alba badges in the mountains?! I think you mentioned it before, ANB, but it’s starting to piss me off.
Maybe she can remember how to use Kanka or another ability of her’s in the position she’s in. Asuna and Anya dashing into the Ball Room and exposing Fate’s plot would be very good way to end her imprisonment.
However, looking at the way the story is going, things seem to get more and more dramatic, Negi’s enemy beyng An organisation that controls half of the world(or more).
Then again, things were going the same way when that petrifying demon atacked, or when Chao nearly convinced Negi to join her, BUT a few pages after that Negi and the gang allready kiked their asses-that’s shounen manga for ya, you gotta love it! And since it’s Ken’s work we’re talking about, the cange will be done so good that it won’t even mater if someone was petrified for hours(possibly Rakan) like Eishun was or helped at revealing magic to the world like Chachamaru or Hakase(Chao left so she doesn’t count at punishment).
Back to what hapened in the previous chapter, someone mentioned this Godel being Fate in sisguise. While I could say that it’s not possible because he was a comrade of the Ala Rubra, then again so was that other guy fate inpersonated. And Godel’s A,B,C do seem similar to Fate’s. Plus the clasic clishe bad-guy atitude.
Fate loses to Rakan, and right near the end, Fate summons Asuna. *cue shocked/horror reaction* Rakan is shocked for a second, and Asuna takes him down. Remember all those foreshadowing of Asuna’s vast potential? Yeah… it’s true. Setsuna’s words will come true.
Anyways, I have to ask, ANB. I know you’ve asked around a bit about this already… it’s about Negipa!. Have there been any news if DR have plans on translating it?
If they do, I hope Alethea and Athena will be behind the translation. Ever since they took over, the quality in the translation have been much better. They’re not perfect (fewer mistake, better dialogues), but they’re a lot better than previous ones. I still prefer cnet’s translation, though.
Is that a prediction or do you know something? I ask because no spoilers have been posted yet.
As to Negipa, the last time I spoke to someone with someone at DR, they mentioned being interested in it but that’s all. I haven’t asked recently because even if DR is trying to score a license, they wouldn’t divulge that information.
@AstroNerdBoy
That’s my prediction.
Ah, I see. I was just wondering, is all.
Yes Asuna may help out to end the fight beetween Fate and Rakan I wouldn’t be too suprised if the both Asuna and Anya befriended Fate and there’s something Eishun,Colonel Sanders and Eva know more about the current situation that wasn’t yet revealed.
Asuna, possibly, Anya never.
Anya is as much of a side character one could get. All she might do is escape and tell Negi what happened.
