  1. Alex Voda says:

Is Asuna the masked figure on first picture?
If Asuna is MoB that would be another thing some have guessed well.

  2. Renzo says:

Gotta love that Rakan armor. :]
Cool update! :)) So fast, so cool.
HAHA. Looks like another battle’s coming up. Watch out Godel. /:)

  3. Anonymous says:

    YES! The wait is over!

  4. Anonymous says:

wow, this is really exciting. can’t wait for the the scanlation and the next chapters. I love the pissed off look of Godel, haha. There will be more fighting and I hope we can see the real Asuna for the next chapter.
By the way, I love your blog. Thanks for posting negima spoiler images. I always check your blog.

  5. Orion says:

@Alex: Personally, I thought it was that Rakan realized why Fate needed Asuna out of the picture, because she can nullify MoB’s magic.

  6. Anonymous says:

Hey Astro, I’ve been meaning to ask why you’re always calling these “spoiler” images? They’re just preview images from the manga, to me that’s more like a “teaser”. They’d only be spoilers if they gave away the outcome and it seems the Japanese who post them normally like to tease instead of spoiling anything really major.

  7. Philip says:

Did Negi and AA have a Plan B if things go south?

  8. Heucheal says:

Well thx astro for these Spoilerpics i appreciate your effort in finding them. This is also my 1st comment on your block even though Im reading it for a year now, but for me it takes time to post in a forum/on a blog.

    Now on topic

To say it with Rakans Words from the trumpcardbattle “Abso- Freaking lutely Brilliant” cant wait for the scan and the chapter following to this.

  9. Anonymous says:

Seems like raw for this chapter is already out.

  10. Zefyris says:

Argh, damn it, most of the text is either too blur or too little to be read properly, I WANT TO READ IT damn it!

“Is Asuna the masked figure on first picture?
If Asuna is MoB that would be another thing some have guessed well.”

->At the very least, there is a connection between asuna and that figure yes, and rakan realized it.
It doesn’t looks like there is more explanation however than this in this chapter, too bad.
But yes, it looks like ANB guessed well, or at least was close from the actual answer, uh. honestly, when I read his theory, I thought it was only bullshit like all the “nagi is negi”, “arika is asuna” and so on ^^”.
Si I’m really surprised now :p.

And well, I find interesting that kurt only want to save humans living in the magic world (who represents 1/17 of the magical world total population) and not the others. Why that? He says that there is a good reason, that the other can’t be saved.

And that he’s saying something like he can’t say why (and he’s almost begging negi to be smart enough to understand why without him saying it? :O )
Again, could it be that only those human from the “real world” are actually real, and other are illusions? (yes, again with that theory xD )

But of course, negi, as a 10 year old child who want to follow his father and mother’s path, will never accept to work with kurt with that kind of goal. only a “let’s save everyone” can satisfy him.

Can’t blame kurt to be pissed off after hearing what negi said, seriously ^^”. Especially the part about arika who would be sad if she saw kurt giving up on other people like this… Such a cunning way to use the love feelings kurt had for arika as soon as nodoka discovered them seriously… rofl.

  11. Zefyris says:

Well, kodansha won’t like this, the raw is already out.
    Well… Whatever.

    I see, I see…
    Now it became more clear.

About asuna, I’m guessing that the theory “asuna= mage of the beginning” is wrong, but, isn’t that far from the reality.
Something like “the mage of the beginning doesn’t have a real body anymore, but something like his spirit is alive inside asuna? And that after being beaten by nagi, he didn’t have the power to go out of her anymore? And that was fate’s goal to release him again? (and in order to do that, asuna’s memories were needed somewhat?)
Could it be that what negi said to konoka and setsuna right bfore the ball wasn’t something like “asuna is the princess of the dusk” but rather “the mage of the begining is inside asuna and that’s fate goal”? 😮
If so, rakan was the one who tell him this, so no wonder that he understood right away that something happened to asuna after seeing that shadowy figure again…

    Hmmm… That’s difficult xD.

And it looks like what chao tried to change in the past was the complete destruction of the mundus magicus.

Oh, and this isn’t the whole humanity living in the mundus magicus (around 500 million) that he’s trying to save, just the megalomesambria’s inhabitants (67 million). His own country.
Of course he doesn’t care about the “demi humans” of the hellas empire(around 700 millions) at all.
So 1 out of 18, uh.

So something like… The mundus magicus will be completely destroyed, let’s save the megalomesambria’s inhabitants”. And of course negi doesn’t want to save only them.

And damn, that ero nasubi albireo is at it again. What’s up whith that “I see, it’s better when it’s big” speech ? xD
he really knows how to upset eva 😀

  12. fg7dragon says:

That armor Rakan has may be from his gladiator days. Also, Rakan may be thinking about “The Heart of the Graveyard sealed away with the twilight imperial princess” that the corrupt senator was asking Arika about.
As for Negi’ side, he apparently refuses Godel’ plans. He says something about 67 million, like that wasn’t enough.

  13. AstroNerdBoy says:

@Renzo — That armor kinda reminds me of the armor Asuna wore during the Mahora Festival.

    @Alex — I think that’s still up for debate.

    @Anon — Yes it is. ^_^

    @Anon2 — You’re welcome and thanks! ^_^

@Zefyris — And it looks like what chao tried to change in the past was the complete destruction of the mundus magicus.

That doesn’t surprise me at all. The way that aspect of the story played out with Chao saying she was trying to avoid a catastrophe, I figured it might have something to do with Mars and possibly even the loss of true magic.

But yes, it looks like ANB guessed well, or at least was close from the actual answer, uh. honestly, when I read his theory, I thought it was only bullshit like all the “nagi is negi”, “arika is asuna” and so on ^^”.
Si I’m really surprised now :p.

OK, what’s specifically making you think that I’m close to the mark?

And well, I find interesting that kurt only want to save humans living in the magic world (who represents 1/17 of the magical world total population) and not the others. Why that? He says that there is a good reason, that the other can’t be saved.

If what another person has proposed is correct (and I haven’t gone back through the various posts to ID this person…sorry), all of the people of Hellas are nothing more than mere illusions. I don’t know if the stuff with Rakan in this current chapter negates that notion or not, but if they are in essence living illusions (solid holograms), then that might explain Kurt’s feelings.

Negi is a smart one though. ^_^

@Anon — I’ll look into the new raw though I suspect that a raw this early is nothing more than reposted spoiler images since we seem to have scored an entire manga this week.

@Heucheal — you are welcome and thanks for writing. ^_^

@Orion — I thought so too. I’ve also wondered why Jack wanted to make sure Asuna took that medicine which appeared to foil Fate, at least for a short time.

@Philip — I would guess so, considering how Negi is. The main thing would be to get the non-pactio girls out and back to Earth if nothing else. Beyond that, if there is a plan B, we’ll get some notion of it when it happens.

@Anon — There are people who get VERY upset if things aren’t tagged properly. They may well look at the early manga scanlation, but they may not want to see anything before the scanlation is released. Also, there are those who are only reading the Del Rey releases and so want to avoid any Negima! news beyond where Del Rey has published. That’s why I tag both the preview images AND my chapter reviews with a SPOILER tag. ^_^ That way, if these people continue reading the posting, doom on them. ^_~

    @fg7dragon – that’s a good guess about Jack’s armor.

You know, December is going to be another tough month for us Negima! fans. *lol*

  14. Bright says:

Hmm. Does anyone know why Negi has those darkish patches on him? Is it the ME aftereffects, or was the scanning just not done very well?

  15. anachan says:

    @astro and zefyris

That doesn’t surprise me at all. The way that aspect of the story played out with Chao saying she was trying to avoid a catastrophe, I figured it might have something to do with Mars and possibly even the loss of true magic.

According to Mana back in the Festival, Chao wasn’t trying to avoid a catastrophe.
    Here
    http://www.onemanga.com/Mahou_Sensei_Negima!/153/07/

And even if it was like that, how would exposing the mages change anything?

    Thanks for the images.

  16. Philip says:

I’m under the impression it might be the scanning…

  17. Zefyris says:

“OK, what’s specifically making you think that I’m close to the mark?”
He’s surprised to see again that shadow, thinking that “he shouldn’t have the strenght anymore” and immediately understand that something must have happened to asuna.
Which means, Rakan knows that there is a deep connection between the presence of the mage of the beginning and asuna.

bTW, I don’t know why, but my 2 previous posts are displayed in the wrong order: the first one is after I read the complete chapter, the second one just before I read the complete chapter and after I read the spoiler pics.

Oh, and the one who talked about demi humans being illusions is me :p.

“According to Mana back in the Festival, Chao wasn’t trying to avoid a catastrophe.”
Yes. Maybe she lied because she could’nt tell negi about the future? (Beware of the time patrol? 😀 )

  18. arimareiji says:

    @anachan:

Fair enough, but keep in mind that 1) there’s a wide range of possibilities that fall short of “mankind’s survival”, and 2) the Japanese place a high value on understatement rather than self-promotion or hysteria. (Contrast with the US, where someone may say they’re “getting raped” by a credit card company if they think the interest rate is too high.)

Tragedies that occur in the world all the time but fall short of “destruction of the earth” include genocide, famine, extinction, natural disaster, etc. It’s not too much of a stretch to say that this could include the deaths of most of the inhabitants of MM, who represent a fraction of the population of the earth. Or the MS Senate executing a plot to take over the earth, for another example.

  19. fg7dragon says:

The reason why Goden only wants to save the 67 million humans may be that the other population would be needed as sacrifices to save the Mundus Magicus.
Regarding the reason the Mundus Magicus is unstable, I believe it’s simple an issue of magical energy. It cannot last without the energy being recharged.
“The Heart of the Graveyard” may be something that converts live energy into spiritual/magical energy. So it could be used to kill part or all of the population in order to maintain the Mundus Magicus. It my theory is correct, it would also explain why Fate was calling the people of Mundus Magicus dolls: they were being allowed to live only to be killed on a later date. It would also fit the Lifemake’s mad desire if he was the one who created the Mundus Magicus.

  20. fg7dragon says:

The reason why Godel only wants to save the 67 million human population may be related to the instability of the Mundus Magicus.
As all magical objects or places, the Mundus Magicus needs to have it’s magical energy recharged regularly. Magical objects on Earth may do it automatically because of the 13 sacred places lake the World Tree, but there are none on the surface of Mars.
“The Heart of the Graveyard” and the “Gravekeepers Palace” may be used to convert the life energy of the population into spiritual/magical energy and channel it into the Mundus Magicus.
If my theory is correct, it would explain why Fate was caling the people of Mundus Magicus ‘dolls’: because they were allowed to live only to be used as sacrifices on a later date. It would also explain why he said ‘mad dream of my dead master’.

  21. Orion says:

@Zefyris: I don’t think Kurt is trying to save MM humans at all. Note how in 266 Kurt says there are 50 million pure blooded mages living in MM, but says he wants to save 67 million humans.

I mentioned it earlier, but I think Kurt is trying to save the mages currently living in Mundus Vetus. It kind of clicked when he said 67 million, because that’s the exact number of mages she said were currently living there.

Given this, I think Kurt has given up on trying to save Mundus Magicus, and instead wants to at least prevent Mundus Vetus from being destroyed as well.

  22. I am personaly going for the persona 3 way of doing things. “If you can’t beat them then seal them in some one” These are just my thoughts so it might be totally wrong but here’s my thoughts.

Asuna’s Magic cancel ability is a seal to stop what is on the inside from coming out. Back when Asuna had that dream about Nagi she already had blood flowing from her cheek. That could signify a blood seal. So you got the imperial people going against a force they can’t handle. so seal it and get rid of it. But how did they seal? Nagi’s master.

These are just my thoughts. so who knows.

  23. asuna and mage of the beginning?
    rakan’s goal?
    godel’s ambitions will unfold further?
    fate… save the world?
,these seem like there are some connections, but i think that the past will fuse the connections and that the future will unfold why chao became a martian tha was incapable of spells without pain…

so many surprises that akamatsu sensei comes up with, now we have to find more exciting answers… guessing and theorizing the future events will only get us so far, but seeing the events unfold will make the story even more complex @.@

just hope that the next exciting chapter unfolds =]
