Keroro Gunsou – 104

ケロロ軍曹/Sgt. Frog/Keroro Gunsou Anime episode 104

SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:

Keroro Gunsou - 104Fuyuki has a dream that Keroro conquers Earth with green slime. He awakens to find their house has been so conquered as it is covered in slime and all rooms are flooded with slime. Fuyuki and Natsumi go to the Keron base, where Fuyuki is trapped and captured by his love for the occult and Natsumi gets trapped and captured by her love for roasted sweet potatoes and Mutsumi. The Keron platoon all look somewhat different and are acting different as they prepare a mecha to invade Earth. However, the real Keron platoon comes in and stops it, revealing that they’d left robotic doubles to watch the house while they went to an onsen. Unfortunately, Keroro set them to “invade” rather than to “do chores,” so Natsumi decides to punish him.

Keroro Gunsou - 104Giroro is frustrated with Keroro relaxing, leading to an argument. When Natsumi goes to put an end to it, she stubs her toe on a dresser, leading Keroro to come up with a new invasion plan. Using Giroro as a test case, Keroro proves that stubbing one’s toe on the corner of a cabinet is not only painful, but can pave the way to invasion. He launches an army of cabinets and all over Tokyo, people are stubbing their toes. Momoka and Paul come by and with Fuyuki and Natsumi, they go into the base and discover the truth. Giroro is in tears and Keroro celebrating, but Fuyuki points out that in America, people wear their shoes indoors. Thus, Americans aren’t stubbing their toes and Keroro’s plan is a failure, though their HQ has given them a limited amount of time to complete the invasion.

Thoughts/Review:

We are back to the 2-story format, and with a new season, a new OP and ED theme. The new OP song didn’t do much for me but the new ED is OK.

Keroro Gunsou - 104

For the first segment, the story is pretty “meh.” It has a massive, “been there, done that” feel and so isn’t funny or that interesting. I’m still lacking in mecha knowledge though since I didn’t recognize the Gundam model, nor the mecha being parodied in the segment.

Keroro Gunsou - 104

The second story actually has value since I suspect most of us have stubbed our toe on a dresser, cabinet, chest of drawers, etc., especially at night. The whole, “Americans wear their shoes indoors” made me laugh, though there are more and more of us removing our shoes just to spare having dirty floors.

Keroro Gunsou - 104

So, a mixed lot here with one good mini-episode and one not so good mini-episode.
