Japan’s Lotteria Tsukumen Ramen Burger

Japan’s Lotteria Tsukumen Ramen Burger

I like ramen, whether used as a noodle side dish, or as a soup. (Tonkotsu ramen is probably my favorite.) I absolutely love cheeseburgers and could live off of them. The idea of a dipping ramen burger though just doesn’t sound that great to me.

Still, in Japan, the Lotteria burger franchise is selling Tsukumen Ramen burgers as a single, double, or triple. Check it out.

Yeah, doesn’t look like my cup of tea. I’d try a bite, just to try a bite, but slapping ramen in a but, then throwing a side of tsukumen to dip the “burger” in just doesn’t sound that appealing to me, even with a side of tasty fries (assuming Lotteria’s fries are tasty — I’ve never eaten them).

Thomas Gantz posted a picture to show what these “burgers” really look like (I think this is a single or maybe a double).

Heh! Well, reality always fails to meet the standards lain out by advertising campaigns. ^_^

So, what do you guys think? Go or pass on this burger?

Pass. Definitely pass. The advertisement made my opinion be among the lines “lol why not once xD”, but that reality shot just looks unapetizing, and not only because of the combination…

Amusing idea though (whether that’s good or bad when it comes to food is debatable).
Japanese imagination never fails to surprise me, especially when it comes to hamburgers.

*lol* Well, the Japanese imagination is pretty high when it comes to burgers. Some of the ideas look pretty tasty though.

have you guys ever eaten yakisoba pan? this just substitute yakisoba with ramen and bread with burger buns,

have you guys ever eaten the “original” instant ramen straight? (without adding hot water), it is popular enough they sell pre pack version in the cookie/candy aisle.

this is basically another idea of carb on carb, no difference than American’s french fries sandwich, or British’s Chip Butty,

price is not cheap enough for me to try often, but I will definitely try it at least once if I got the chance. from my experience with yakisoba the more burned, crisp, and caramelized the noodles the better. similar texture including Hong Kong style fired noodle.

I can see in the future they introduce different dips like curry, etc.

I saw it once at the local Japanese grocery store, but I wasn’t interested in getting it. ^_^

I’ve never eaten ramen without cooking it. I usually eat it as a noodle side dish at home, and as a soup in a Japanese restaurant.

      I’d try it for the heck of it as well, but I doubt I’d get it more than once. ^_^;

I’d try it. Whether or not I’d have it again would depend on the taste, obviously. But it looks more appetizing then some of the stuff I’ve eaten, and they turned out to be good.
