Those darn, best laid plans!

Those darn, best laid plans!

Hey gang!

As regular readers of the blog know, I didn’t blog about any new anime series this season.  I had planned to watch some backlog stuff, starting with Inuyasha: Final Act. I had made it up to episode 17 before giving up on the series for whatever reasons (mainly boredom, I think). Back when I went out to New Jersey in March for work purposes, I actually brought the series with me to finish and managed to watch a few episodes in the hotel room.  I’ve been meaning to finish ever since, but alas, I have not had time to do it.

Eventually, I’ll get around to finishing it, much as eventually, I’ll do a Back to the Vaults review of  Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-0hki OVA 3, and Tenchi Muyo! GXP.  Eventually.

But that brings me back to the topic at hand.

These aren’t the only things I’d planned to watch. I’ve had a large number of other anime series that have been recommended to me, all of which are on my list of things to watch.  The stacks of anime DVDs I have collecting dust is just terrible. Further to that, I’ve had a large number of manga and even light novels recommended to me to read. All of those things are on my list.

On occasion, something recommended to me will end up catching my eye to the degree that I’ll take a gander and if I’m lucky, I’ll manage to squeeze it into my busy schedule.  Sometimes, even after I take a gander, it somehow doesn’t get worked in, like Space Battleship Yamato 2199.  (And I keep thinking, “Man, I got to watch this!”)

When I’m really keen to episode blog a series (as I plan to do with the upcoming summer 2014 season), I’ll make sure it gets moved to the front of the line, but then that ensures that unwatched (or unread) titles remain that way.

It would be nice if my job situation were such that I could work from home 100% of the time, thus recovering about 2.5 hours of my day back. I’m sure I could actually get something done then. ^_~  (In the meantime, I am thankful to have a job.)

I’m not sure what I will and won’t be able to get to, for those of you who’ve recommended titles for me.  However, feel free to remind me, but don’t feel bad if I don’t get to your recommendation right away, or even years from now (as some of you know all too well).  I haven’t forgotten any of these series and will try to get to them one day. ^_^

Space Battleship Yamato 2199 was just waiting to be watched. I ploughed through them and its very good, if you overlook how thousands of ememy spaceships fail to fire beam cannons on just one target which is like right next to them.
