Those Who Hunt Elves — On Sale from Rightstuf!
Hey gang! As many of you know, my iconic avatar is Junpei-kun from the anime series Those Who Hunt Elves II, from one of the funniest anime episodes I have ever seen in my life. (To get a clue as to its subject, the episode had the English title of “Those Who Wipe”. ^_~) I didn’t agree with the adaptation pun choice for Mount Kami since they decided to use “Tee Pee” and “TP” for the pun, rather than “God” and “Paper” as in the original Japanese (it makes WAY more sense to understand the group heading for a god mountain than a “tee pee” mountain), but oh well.
While I liked both anime series, several years ago, I was forced to sell off a massive chunk of my anime collection to help pay massive medical debts I owed. It was a hard decision, but I sold both the Those Who Hunt Elves and Those Who Hunt Elves II DVD sets.
Fast forward to today. Gyt Kaliba just alerted me on Facebook that Rightstuf is having a sale in which the anime Those Who Hunt Elves (which they’ve combined with Those Who Hunt Elves II) is now on sale for $10 (as of this posting). As such, I think it is high time I scored this classic anime series again and put it back into my anime library. ^_^
Below are screen captures I scored from many years ago as part of my efforts for Community Anime Reviews. (All of the files were in BMP, so I had to convert them. *lol*)
And a few special spoiler images for my favorite episode. ^_^
You can read my reviews for Those Who Hunt Elves and Those Who Hunt Elves II over on CAR. If I can ever find the time, I should do a “Back to the Vaults” review of the two series.
Heh, didn’t even think that you might no longer have the series or would want to spread the savings onward, when I posted about it; but now I’m glad I did! π I dunno when I’ll get around to actually watching it, as my own backlog of watching/reading material is growing faster than I can get to it, but I’ll be sure to shoot you a line with my thoughts on it once I have.
Yeah, thanks for letting me know for sure. I was totally excited when you told me because all the overtime I’ve worked of late, combined with the sale on the DVDs, meant I could easily afford the purchase. ^_^
Man, do I know that feeling. ^_^;;;;;
haha i remember watchin this maybe 10 odd years ago. truly a classic
The two episodes from the second series makes it stand out.
