SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:

Macross Delta 25Chaos holds a briefing on the bad situation they are in. Reina recovers data from a flight recorder that proves Hayate’s father is innocent and tried to save lives. Berger shows up with information about Mikumo being the Star Singer. This information is relayed by Roid to the Aerial Knights on Windermere. The plan is to use Mikumo as a weapon. NUNS sends a fleet with dimensional bombs in. Heinz reveals he’s dying and requests the Aerial Knights follow Keith’s commands, no matter what. Keith and Roid have a discussion, where Keith believes Roid is still hiding things, but not lying.

Macross Delta 25Berger lets out his belief that Lady M’s arrival coincides with the transmission several years ago from the lost Megaroad-01. Lady M orders Chaos to Ragna. Kaname has a chat with Arad. Mirage encourages Hayate to find Freyja. Though it takes time, Hayate finds Freyja. While they chat, he is delivered a package from his mom, containing stuff from his dad. Freyja sees a picture of his dad and recognizes him from her childhood. On Windermere, Heinz executes his command over Mikumo and has her sing as the Star Singer, which causes all of the NUNS ships to become infected with Vars and blow up their dimensional weapons, destroying the fleet.

Thoughts/Review:

Well, this series is thankfully winding down. So far, nothing happened here that was unexpected. Well, that’s not quite true. We didn’t get a concert for Walküre. I guess there wasn’t time. There was time for Mikumo the Star Singer to sing, sing a song, make it simple to last her whole life long.

Hayate’s Dad

As expected, Hayate’s dad was innocent. He flew off course on purpose to save lives. Yay. His plane was taken over by remote control. Yay! So Hayate’s dad has no blood on his hands. Yay. Isn’t that lovely?

Macross Delta 25

Also, I was not surprised to learn that Hayate’s dad gave Freyja the gift from her childhood. She’d mentioned this gift to Hayate during their mission on Windermere. She didn’t know the man, but now she does. Yay! Isn’t that lovely? Let’s see if she lives long enough to tell Hayate. I suspect that will happen.

Macross Delta 25

And isn’t it awesomely awesome that just when Hayate learns the truth about his dad, he gets a package from his mom that looks like it came from 2016? Yes, its lovely, isn’t it? Sure it is, since it allowed Hayate and Freyja to have their moment. 😉

Macross Delta 25

Mikumo the Star Singer

I’ve never been a fan of stories where a character is possessed or somehow controlled into doing things they wouldn’t normally do. Even though I may not be a fan of Macross Delta, I would still hate what is happening with Mikumo. I seriously hope she goes nuts on Roid and his passive-aggressive self. I want his glasses to shatter.

Macross Delta 25

As for Mikumo, I guess we’ll have to wait until the last episode to find out what on Earth Lady M was thinking in creating Mikumo. If Windermere can so easily enslave the Star Singer, then why create her? And isn’t it convenient that Star Singer DNA material was so easily gotten off Windermere and into the hands of Lady M?

Macross Delta 25

Lady M

I predicted some time back that Lady M would be LINN Minmei (or as her stage name went, Lynn Minmay). It isn’t a hard prediction on my part. The fact of the matter is that Macross Delta is trying to recapture elements from all of the previous Macross titles before it. Add to this the story of the Megaroad-01, the first colony ship from Earth, in which the three main characters of the original Macross boarded, but they contact with the ship was lost years later.

Macross Delta 25

With Macross Delta 25, Berger all but comes out with the notion that Lady M is in fact Minmei. He casually drops the information about communications with the Megaroad-01 resuming after the events of Macross Frontier. At that point, “Lady M” appears on the scene, but never in person.

Macross Delta 25

Assuming this is Minmei, it does raise a lot of questions. For starters, what happened to Megaroad-01? How’d they suddenly communicate? How’d Lady M suddenly create and run the mercenary organization Chaos? If Lady M is Minmei, I don’t see how we get those answers in the final episode of Macross Delta.

Macross Delta 25

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

I guess we have the official conclusion of the love triangle in Macross Delta 25. Mirage handed Hayate off to Freyja with a smile. I hope that’s the case. I still say she should hook up with Chuck. Yeah, he’s fat and has aquatic elements, but he needs love and he’d work hard for her. 😀

Macross Delta 25

In the end, Macross Delta 25 contains a lot of exposition with no surprises in plot. Only one more episode to go.

I personally don’t think Freyja will live long enough to a have happy ending unless something comes up. Mirage is Misa (Lisa) Hayes of the series, do you remember what happened to Lynn Minimay? She didn’t get her man. I think this will be case here.

Aside from that, i have no clue how they’ll wrap this up. NUNS fleet is wiped out and it going take a song and dance routine to take over the galaxy.

Is NUNS going be wiped despite the good intentions of Chaos? It’s possibility, they’ve been completely jerks to other non-humans species. It be interesting twist in the universe if the unified government wasn’t in charge anymore.

Series hasn’t been all much exciting for me. Not because of the predictability, its just lack-luster action.

The production team has certainly been pushing that element.

Ha!ha! But here, Hayate hasn’t slept with Mirage. 😛 (A minor thing, I know.)

All true. But then, that’s what happens when story is sacrificed for the purpose of the advertisement.
