Spoiler Summary/Synopsis

Nakano wakes up to go to work, but is exhausted. He wonders if the kitsune visit from the night before was a dream. Senko-san shows up, proving it wasn’t. She sees him off to work, then cleans his house. When he returns, he gets to have a relaxing bath instead of just a shower. Senko-san then offers to clean his ears. He consents to this after she offers to allow him to touch her fluffy fox ears. As she cleans his ears, he falls asleep and dreams of a man and Senko-san from the past.

When he awakes, he gets to play with Senko-san’s sensitive ears. However, he goes to far, causing him to apologize. She forgives him, then orders him to bed to get a good night’s sleep. He gives a minor objection, then gives in. He finds how she curls up on a pillow on the floor to be cute. But after he goes to bed, he frets about making a god sleep on the floor. She joins him in bed. Despite his reservations, he falls asleep. The next morning, Senko-san forces him to eat breakfast, then sees him off for another day at work.

Thoughts/Review

The production team adapted chapters two and five (with some padding) to make The Helpful Fox Senko-san 02. While they inserted the contents of chapter five to start right after the start of the events of chapter two, then proceeded to finish with the contents of chapter two to end the episode, the remashing ends up working fairly well.

The Benefits of a Loli-babaa Wife

What I’m about to say is not going to be politically correct. But let’s be honest here. Senko-san represents the ideal, perfect wife. She cooks excellent meals. She cleans quite well. She pampers her man. She has a youthful appearance, and yet has the maturity of an adult of many years. The fox ears and tails aside, most men would love to have a wife like Senko-san.

Well, maybe a young woman with a legal looking appearance. 😅 The whole loli-babaa trope in Japan is so they can have their loli cake (haha!) and eat it too. Senko-san may look 12, but since she’s 800+, well it can’t be illegal, eh? 😅

Still, we men are simple creatures. Feed us and keep us sexually sated, and women, you have us for life. 😉 But since this series is a wholesome title (for the most part), the ear scene of The Helpful Fox Senko-san 02 is about as lewd as it gets. That and the tail fluffing that’s sure to come.

FUNimation’s Whacked Honorific (Non) Usage

FUNimation decided to name this series in English, The Helpful Fox Senko-san. As such, one would think, “OK, they are going to use Japanese honorifics in the subtitles.” Ah, but that’s where you’d be wrong. For some WHACKED reason, FUNimation said, “Yeah, we’ll use the honorific in the title of the series, but then we ain’t using honorifics anywhere else. So up your butt, Jobu!” 🙄😑

Seriously, it makes no bloody sense to properly use “Senko-san” as the official title of your anime series, then only call her “Senko” everywhere else. Man, I miss the days when FUNimation was actually a good company.

It will be interesting to see how FUNimation deals with the story when Senko-san introduces herself as Nakano’s wife and mother. That is, assuming the anime adaptation keeps that element from the manga in there.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

In the end, The Helpful Fox Senko-san 02 combines and rearranges two source manga chapters into a single episode that works pretty well. Next up, the neighbor girl.
