Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:

Nasa quietly observes his wife and marvels at how cool she is. He thinks back to when a big bee came into their room. Nasa was freaked out about this, but Tsukasa caught it with chop sticks and let it go outside.

Suddenly, Nasa has the urge to hug his wife from behind. However, he’s concerned that she’ll not be interested in doing that right now. And if she rejects him, he’ll be depressed.  However, while she’s cooking, he paces behind her, plotting. She wonders what is going on. As such, he’s forced to back down, figuring that it would be bad to hug her while she’s cooking.

Nasa returns to intensive plotting on how to hug his wife from behind. Since girls are sensitive about how they might smell, hugging her when she finishes her bath is an option. However, since they are going for a walk after dinner, Nasa uses this moment to make his move.

Before Tsukasa can grab the door, Nasa grabs her from behind. He tells her that he rarely gets to hold her from behind like this. As such, he tells her to tell him if she ever wants a hug. She turns to face him and asks for one. As they embrace and kiss, their walk got canceled.

Thoughts/Review:

I decided to pick up reviewing the volume omake chapters with Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 79.5. This is where Hata-sensei is allowed to increase the lewd factor a bit.

Implied Sex?

It is amazing at how often I hear complaints about Nasa and Tsukasa apparently being in a sexless marriage, even though they are 18 and 16 respectively. Considering that Tonikaku Cawaii is a shounen manga series, I’m not sure what these readers expect. If this manga series were published in a hentai magazine, then these people would be raising a valid point. As it is, in a weekly, shounen magazine, you are only getting PG stuff.

That said, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 79.5 is the omake chapter for volume 8 of the series. While the shounen crowd that buys the shounen magazines may buy the tankoubon release for their book collection, the rules aren’t as strict. Thus, Hata-sensei tends to allow a bit more ecchi/lewd material to show up.

In my mind, having husband and wife embracing and deep kissing while being flushed is an obvious sign of arousal. And the fact that their walk was canceled could be a sign that the couple had sex instead. And frankly, that’s fine with me. I don’t need it spelled out. It can be implied and I’m good with that.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

In the end, Hata-sensei is doing his best with Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 79.5 to reverse Japan’s declining birthrates by attempting to get guys interested in real life women.
