Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 147.3
Fly Me to the Moon: Tonikaku Kawaii 3

Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:

Kaguya-hime left behind a letter and the Hourai Elixir, granting immortality. After Kaguya-hime returned to the moon, her adoptive parents and the Emperor decided to not take the elixir since they could not be with Kaguya. As such, the Emperor charged his subordinate, Iwakasa, to burn the elixir atop the highest mountain in the land. However, Iwakasa betrayed the Emperor’s trust and gave the elixir to his dying daughter in the hopes of saving her.

Tsukasa tells her father she was prepared to die that night and not become an immortal. In the meantime, the people of the town begin to speak of Tsukasa becoming immortal and the Emperor ordering the execution of her family, Further, the townspeople decide that consuming Tsukasa’s flesh would cure them of any illness or disease. Making matters worse, the gossip kid Tsukasa befriended reports on Tsukasa surviving the fall from the cliff.

As such, Tsukasa fled, pursued by the villagers who pierced her with many arrows. The villagers bind Tsukasa with chains and bring her back. She discovers they’ve set fire to her home and beheaded her father. She becomes enraged by this and the villagers desires to eat her. As such, she manages to use her wakizashi to cut her arm off, free herself from her bonds, and then slaughter every villager in the area.

Thoughts/Review:

I have to say, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 147.3 (Fly Me to the Moon Chapter 3), we got a full-page chapter that was impactful on multiple levels.

Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 147.3

Tsukasa’s Backstory Part 3

In Fly Me to the Moon Chapter 3, we get to see three important things. First was the unfortunate human notion of allowing one’s love for a family member override common sense. I understood why Tsukasa’s father did what he did. He loved his daughter and wanted her to live, even if it meant making her an immortal. But alas, Tsukasa will now have to pay the price for this.

The second thing we saw was how quickly the folks, whom Tsukasa had long helped, turned on her. Not content with burning her home down and beheading her father, they were going to try to eat her flesh for their own selfish reasons. It is an act of evil and vile beyond belief. And sadly, it is a human trait all humans have.

Finally, we saw what an enraged Tsukasa can do. As an immortal, she cannot die. Therefore, she can take an infinite amount of damage. So it doesn’t really matter if she’s not a skilled warrior or the like. She escapes the Mary Sue trap because as an enraged immortal with nothing to lose, I can believe that at the end of the day, she slew everyone in the village who’d try to imprison her.

And frankly, I wasn’t sorry to see them die. However, I did feel badly for Tsukasa, who had to come to the conclusion that she was a monster. Not only that, but having killed folks, she was changed forever.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

I’m so insanely behind in my reviews, so let me wrap up this review. In the end, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 147.3 / Fly Me to the Moon Chapter 3 continues looking at Tsukasa’s backstory. However, this chapter carried much more weight that previous chapters in this side story. I think there’s only one more chapter for this side store, and then the main story resumes.
