Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:

The emperor’s forces are forced to the ground as giant cubes descend. Seeing this, the emperor orders archers to fire on the cubes, but they are apparently executed. Even the emperor is forced down as his body is crushed. Kaguya yells for the cubes to stop. As such, she agrees to return to the moon.

The emperor, the bamboo cutter, and the bamboo cutter’s wife find themselves in space with Kaguya. With that, Kaguya uses her power to take over as the lunar envoy. She destroys all the cubes and informs them that she will shortly have her memories wiped. Kaguya causes letters she’s written to appear before each of them. The emperor begs her not to go.

Kaguya closes her eyes and regrets hurting them. Further, she wishes she’d been more honest with herself. Her ultimate wish is to meet with the emperor someday. Before she leaves, she cuts herself and uses blood to create the Hourai Elixir. She lets them know that if they drink the elixir, they will be transformed into an immortal entity like herself.

Thoughts/Review:

I really feel badly for Kaguya in Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 205. Unlike her modern self, her past self experienced the joys and pains of falling in love. She loves her adoptive parents, and she loves the emperor as a would be husband. A while back, we learned that Kaguya had a wish. Now we know what it was. At a minimum, she wants to reunite with the emperor. But I suspect she’d like to be with her parent again.

Another interesting element of the chapter is seeing just how powerful Kaguya is. When her people sent a fleet of Borg cubes to take Kaguya back and literally crush everyone, Kaguya instantly destroyed them all. This made me think of Hata-sensei’s Ad Astra Per Aspera series (on apparent hiatus). Might the aliens from there be Kaguya’s people?

That aside, the most interesting bit came from the Hourai Elixir’s creation. Kaguya made it from her own blood. And with that, the linkage between Tsukasa and Kaguya is complete. I now understand why Kaguya hears Tsukasa’s cries. A part of Kaguya resides in Tsukasa. And maybe that’s why Tsukasa saw Kaguya in that bamboo area way back when.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

In the end, I’m really enjoying getting Kaguya’s backstory in Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 205. I know some folks will hate that Tsukasa and Nasa are not here for fluff chapters. But if you like plot, this chapter is pretty good.
