Since the Community Anime Reviews site has frequent, lengthy down spells, I’m republishing some of my OG reviews from there. I have corrected obvious spelling errors though. I will add new notes in parenthesis, labeled “ANB  note.”  😅 I won’t count these as part of the “Back to the Vaults” series as I have not rewatched them.

Community Anime Review of Hand Maid Mai

Through episode 1, I can’t say I’m impressed. Don’t expect the charm of the original Hand Maid May (Hand Maid Mai is a spinoff-sequel) because it’s not there. Two more episodes supposed to come later in 2003 but as of July 2003, the series is on hold indefinitely. The other two episodes have been completed, but since the Japanese distribution company went out of business, the series creator Wonder Farms can’t do a thing until all the legal issues have been resolved. I’ll post an update when I hear more news.

Update: This series will never be completed due to the legal issues. So I’ll tag it as “Watch”.

Additional: I managed to “re-acquire” a copy of this first episode. I think for fun, I’ll do a “Back to the Vaults” piece on it.
