No clue were I picked this up from, but the art looks like the same art from the various Slayers light novel covers. I’m not versed in all the cover art so one of you who IS edumacated can let me know. ^_^
I think this is my favorite piece of Slayers artwork. I like how Gourry is positioned behind Lina and Zelgadiss is positioned behind Amelia. It is as if to say, “we’ve got your back.” Of course having Naga bring up the rear with her back to us but still throwing up the “V” sign adds a comedy element to the piece. ^_^
Which reminds me, I need to check into when FUNimation will be releasing Slayers Revolution. I’ll want to score a copy of that.
Check out the new covers for the most recent re-release of the novels! They’re pretty darn swell, if I don’t say so myself. I really wish I could put those things on my shelf. If only I spoke Japanese, or we’d get them released here.
We were lucky to get the first eight novels at all.
Which reminds me — I’ve still not read the last two. *_* I really need to do that. So much to do, so little time. ^_^;
I believe the artist who did this cover (which is also the cover of one of my Slayers artbooks) also did a lot of the artwork for the manga and Lost Universe. Not certain, I just know it’s not the regular Slayer artist (the eyes give it away).Also, Funi has no DVD plans for Slayers until next year. Mainly because they are already pimping the original Dragonball, the release of the Dragonball Z Dragon Box, Sgt. Frog, and One Piece all for the holiday season.
