Keroro Gunsou episode 64

SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:

Keroro Gunsou 64Fuyuki and Natsumi notice a distinct lack of clean clothes, leading Natsumi to head down to the Keron base and find out what Keroro has been doing. Because of all the rain, he has the laundry hung up in his room, which has seriously raised the humidity and he loves it. When the Nyororo is mentioned to Keroro, he gets an idea for a dryer, which he names Keroro-chan. Inside, a small Nyororo will suck all the moisture out of clean clothing without wrinkling them or harming them. However, Kururu’s plan for mass production goes awry when all of the Nyororo’s escape and begin pursuing the platoon.

Keroro Gunsou 64Natsumi and Fuyuki find themselves pursued as well as the Nyororo break through door after door to get to the entire group and the moisture in their bodies. Eventually, the group finds themselves trapped in a room with a drill-rocket. Since the drill-rocket is positioned directly below Keroro’s room, they launch it to escape. This causes all of the wet clothing to fall through the drill hole as the Nyororo enter. Keroro gets caught by a Nyororo and sucked dry. Giroro falls prey to them as well, after freezing up when Natsumi’s bra lands on his head.

Keroro Gunsou 64Dororo, who’d had his trauma switch activated in the previous story thanks to remembering Keroro stealing his umbrella when they were kids, is still suffering and if they don’t resolve his trauma problem, he’ll stay this way permanently. Kururu has created a device called the Soul Diver, which will allow Keroro, Giroro, and Tamama to enter Dororo’s mind and fix what is wrong. Upon entering Dororo’s head, they enter one of his memories bubbles. It is the event when Dororo (then called Zeroro) had his umbrella taken by Keroro. So to rectify the matter and make Dororo’s memory a good one, Tamama launches a Tamama Impact attack at young Keroro. Thus when Dororo (Zeroro) is about to leave school and sees it is raining, he has his umbrella. Now his bad memory is a good one.

Keroro Gunsou 64The three move from memory balloon to memory balloon with Tamama’s solution being pretty much the same each time — Tamama Impact the young Keroro to teach him a lesson. However, their efforts fail to make Dororo improve and they soon learn why. An alien parasite in Dororo’s mind emerges, known as the Tiger Horse (that’s the actual name in the Japanese and not a translation). This creature gives pursuit to the trio after Tamama’s attack fails. If they can get weapons from Dororo’s memories, those will work on the alien. Keroro finds a weapon but it is only a toy gun. Further, it is one where Keroro wrote his name on it even though it was Dororo’s. Thus, Keroro has his own trauma crisis. Giroro takes charge and leads the Tiger Horse to a memory bubble wherein is Dororo’s memory of a Space Cyclops. So when the Tiger Horse enters the Space Cyclops’s residence, it gets eaten and Dororo is returned to normal. Only now, Keroro is suffering from trauma.

Thoughts/Review:

Keroro Gunsou 64I laughed and laughed at the complete wrongness of Keroro humping the laundry. I even showed this to Savage Piper, who’s not an anime fan, and he cracked up. I had another good laugh when Giroro also ended up getting sucked dry by the Nyororo thanks to Natsumi’s bra landing on his head. I did not laugh at the trauma switch joke with Dororo though. I wish they’d stop that already.

I figured the 2nd story wouldn’t make me laugh since it was going to feature Dororo’s trauma’s. Thankfully, I was Keroro Gunsou 64completely wrong about that. I had another good laugh at the gusto with which Tamama punished the young Keroro in Dororo’s memories. I also laughed when the Tiger Horse repelled Tamama’s attack with what looked to be an AT Field from Neon Genesis Evangelion. Tamama’s reaction to that cracked me up as well.

So, hat’s off to the writers on creating two stories that were really funny to me. ^_^
