Ah! My Goddess Ch. 258 Manga Review

SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:

Ah! My Goddess Ch. 258 Manga ReviewHaving defeated Urd’s most powerful lightning spell, Thrym (Slyum) is bored and wants a challenge, so Skuld surprises her and Urd with a Skuld Bomb. Urd isn’t happy about being so close to the blast and chastises Skuld, who continues to launch her bombs at Thrym. Skuld counters that she’s not that clumsy with her bombs, which Urd agrees with before deciding she wants in on the fun. Belldandy decides that they’ve done enough damage, though Urd is convinced Thrym is OK. Sure enough, Thrym is up and happy about what has just happened to her, congratulating Skuld and telling her she’ll remember Skuld’s name. Through Skuld disagrees, Thrym says that with training, Skuld too can become strong.

With that, Thrym attacks, just missing the dodging Skuld who is annoyed at being treated like a kid. She breaks out an anti-tank “bazooka” and the rocket hits Thrym in the face. Skuld is sure no training has been done with Thrym’s face, but Thrym says that every part of her is trained, even her eyeballs. Keiichi figures this means that Thrym is invincible and she agrees. However, she’s surprised to find herself suddenly weakened as Belldandy enters the fray, saying that Thrym cannot destroy a song with her fists. Belldandy’s song is putting Thrym down.

Thoughts/Review: I gotta laugh when fans aren’t sure how to spell the opponents name in this chapter — Thrym or Slyum. ^_^;

Anyway, it is always fun with Skuld gets into the fight since she always brings her toys with her (though where she keeps them hidden on her person is more of a mystery). I’m too tired at the moment to go hit the manga shelf and look up the last time Skuld used her bombs, but it seems that the last time she and Urd did it together was during the Lord of Terror arc. Whether it was or wasn’t, I laughed when Urd wanted to get in on the fun of tossing grenades at an opponent since she’s done that before.

Skuld breaking out that anti-tank weapon made me laugh as well. Naturally, Fujishima-sensei wasn’t going to have it defeat their opponent, but Skuld’s pride and taunt could only lead to one result and it did.

Of course, Belldandy gets into things and with a song. Does this mean that she’s going to bail them out each and every time with her music? Frankly, I’d like to see Belldandy open up a can of you know what, but I guess that’s a bit too much to ask for. Oh well.

Not sure when I’ll get to the next chapter. Hopefully it is sooner rather than later ’cause this arc has been the most interesting one in years.

    I really love this Manga/anime I would love to see them get married that would open up a whole new world of possible stories I mean in the current story arc he’s shown he is willing to litterly go through hell for her. ,if you marry a goddess meeting the in-laws can get very interesting
    Also I think another possible story line could be as hinted at That Keichi is not a normal human ,could be that a distant( or maybe not so distant) ancestor of his made a similar wish and he actually part god which would explain how he was able to support an angel.this might also allow him to if Beldandy does get recalled to go with her. or that K and Bel could start a training camp for gods/goddess’s on how life on earth is for people.. and as far as the doublet system goes that could be replaced say when one side gets 20% more than the other the difference is split between the two thus maintaining balance. which was the objective according to the story.
    Just a few thoughts
