UQ Holder Chapter 83 SPOILER Info (Update #2: More info, now with images)

Here is some SPOILER info for the upcoming UQ Holder Chapter 83, courtesy of 2ch. (My review of UQ Holder Chapter 83 should come out Tuesday or Wednesday.)

UQ HOLDER Chapter 83 SPOILERS

The UQ Holder Chapter 83 goodness begins.^_^

This looks to be Chapter 83’s spoilers.

眠り姫

キティの記憶に触れ
それが元で猛攻撃を受けた刀太は、つい勢いで告白
するとダーナが現れ、キティを元の世界へ返そうと迫る

■好きな女を守るため師匠の前に立ちはだかる!!

As usual, we’ll have to wait for some gracious person to come along and translate, though I note with some amusement that the spoiler text is pretty sparse. Everything here is about Dana, Eva (Kitty), and Touta. It looks to me like the romantic angle is being pushed again as Dana does something to Kitty which causes Touta to react. I could be wrong, so we’ll see what a proper translation says.

Anyway, I’ll update again when there’s a proper translation or spoiler images appear.

Translation from DerGilga.

***dammit, I hope I got this translation wrong, Kurochan (T_T):

眠り姫
Sleeping princess / Sleeping Beauty

キティの記憶に触れ
He touches the memory of Kitty.

それが元で猛攻撃を受けた刀太は、つい勢いで告白
Touta, who receives a fircy attack because of this, makes with vigor/passion a confession by mistake.

するとダーナが現れ、キティを元の世界へ返そうと迫る
Thereupon Dana appears and tries to return Kitty to (her) original world.

■好きな女を守るため師匠の前に立ちはだかる!!
To protect his beloved woman, he stands in the way of his master!!

Yeah, I’m not a fan of this forced romance thing between Touta and Eva.

Update #2: Images from MK.

  2. Seimei says:

Astro: Except that if the phrase “to return her, to her own world” should be taken literally, then it would not be a romance between Eva and Tota, but rather, between Tota and Kitty. The question occurred when the temporal divergence Specifically, if this hypothesis is correct.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

Eva, Kitty, and Yukihime are the same person. If they are doing the jacked up thing and going multiple timelines, then…*sigh* I don’t want to think about it.

  3. NML says:

I hope those are Negi’s feelings and Touta is just feeling them because he’s a clone… that’s right, I ship Negi X Eva, don’t judge me.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

I had no problems with Negi x Eva. In fact, it kinda made sense to me. Both were immortal, and though Eva had a crush on Nagi, she’d become quite fond of Negi and he of her.

  4. Kirarara says:

i have no problem with EvaxTouta….rather i dislike how everything is forced at this point,Dana just enter the UQ Holders story for last chapters in bigbang ways much had more pleasant if Ken put her introduction in different way

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

Yes…the forced nature of things is what troubles me. Plus, Eva had been a mother figure to Touta, so while it isn’t incest in the true form of the word, it evokes an incestuous feel by having Touta want to hook up with Eva.

  5. Qwerty says:

Liking Touta x Eva over here.
Also liking this development very very much. Hahaha

    • Seimei says:

personally that the TotaxEva materializes or not I brace myself. I’d like Tota finish with someone but I brace myself for who the person (except a boy, I’m not particularly a fan of yaoi (but I totally respect those who appreciate). ^^

By cons I counsel you to buy you a hardened steel armor, because you’ll get a lot of enemies here, you are perhaps the only pro-Tota x Eva of the blog, even those who are not haters of UQ, here and elsewhere on the web, do not especially appreciate this potential pairing ^^

      • NT says:

He’s not alone. And I already have fortifications ready. XD Plus i think that’s who Negi liked. I mean, they are kind of similar in a way haha.

But i think the spoilers are talking about the end of the Kitty x Touta relationship possibly. because if this is talking about returning Kitty to her original world, than there is a possibility that this Eva is actually a completely deiifernt Eva than we know. As in one from another Dimension entirely.

I mean, Dana is the Witch of the RIFT. So being able to go to different dimensions shouldn’t be impossible. I mean, Chao did it, and both Eva’s didn’t like dissolve or anything haha.

        • Seimei says:

“But i think the spoilers are talking about the end of the Kitty x Touta relationship possibly. because if this is talking about returning Kitty to her original world, than there is a possibility that this Eva is actually a completely deiifernt Eva than we know. I yours anyway to report that I feel I HAVE been one of the first here to say that Kitty was perhaps not the Eva / Yukihime that we know in Negima and UQ but Eva an alternate timeline. Knowing that we are PROBABLY in the timeline B (Asuna sealed for nearly 135 years), it is perhaps the Eva of the Epilogue of Negima or of the Chao timeline or even a Eva of a timeline totally unknown…

And about that, the fact that Dana can cross dimensions, her overpower, the fact that she appears to know more than everyone. All this reminds me a lot of Yuuko-san of Clamps multivers, which did not displease me!^^

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

Heh!heh! Well, we all have our likes and dislikes. 😉

  6. mattcgw says:

    This is all a facade.

  7. highfirex says:

This reminds me of the epilogue of Negima for some reason. Specificially on what is said with Eva.

  8. arimareiji says:

Spoiler for the next few chapters:

Spoiler Inside: Health Warning: Please do not open this parody if any perceived criticism of UQ Holder will cause an aneurysm. SelectShow
    • Seimei says:

And if none of these things happens,(except perhaps that Tota convinces Dana to let him bring back Kitty to the UQ timeline that we know with him (I say to convince, not defeat without wedding lol) you’ll do what? Because if this is the most likely lol

      • arimareiji says:

…most likely I’ll shrug, since I won’t be particularly surprised. I would actually be really sad if someone who came up with as good a manga as most of Negima was finished his career on such a low note, and I still hope this manga can be redeemed. It’s why I continue to follow ANB’s reviews of it.

If you scratch the surface of a vociferous critic, you’ll usually find a disappointed fan underneath.

        • Seimei says:

I understand you Reiji (and by the way, thank you for the message of prevention for those who are fans of UQ had nice), but let me explain you a thing.

What you or some others here do not seem to be able and / or not willing to understand, is that for some, UQ Holder is EXACTLY that they expected for a sequel of Negima. I’m one of them but I’m NOT the only one!

Many hoped to see Akamatsu to make a real shonen.

Yet we (I speak of those who appreciate UQ) have made the effort, at the time of Negima, to interest us in the series beyond the Harem.
If we add to this the fact that Akamatsu wanted to make a pure shonen with Negime but was forced to make a harem by his publisher (for CAPITALISE on the Love-Hina success (“money, money, money!”) not for make “a good story” huh?

Arguably UQ Holder is both legitimate revenge of Akamatsu and legitimate reward of those who have had the courage to interest in Negima despite the fact they did not like the harem.

And do not answer me “Fortunately there was this editorial interference, it has helped Akamatsu to overcome the both harm and shonen cliches!.”. You are right … but yet you also wrong.
Let me explain: If akamatsu could make Negima as he wanted early, some Love-hina fans may not be love but they would be so stay at Love Hina and Akamatsu could have focused on a new public that it wished to cover.

You repproch to Akamatsu to include Negima paste elements in UQ Holder, okay but :
          1. All akamatsu mangas have always been interconnected.

          2. View that Kodensha pressured Akamatsu in late Negima, so he preferred to stop before no longer have any control over his work. But he obviously wanted to continue. As HE wanted, and NOT as his EDITOR wanted. So he crated “UQ Holder”. Take things as you want Renji, this was and is always legitimate for Akamatsu to do this.

          3. Among the former Negima fans alls AREN’T Love-Hina fans or harem fans. There are also those who enjoyed epic-adventure, the story and the univers of Negima. Akamatsu NOT trying to “buy his old fans” as some could say, he rather attract to him the fans of the mundus-magicus arc, those who have proven to Kodensha that the original project of Akamatsu was as promising as the one they had imposed on him. Those who believed in his vision of the heroic-fantaisy. THEY are the public-cible of UQ Holder, NOT the fans of Love Hina or the first half of Negima

You complain that Akamatsu “dosen’t make the story what you want”? But UQ Holder was never intended for you. If like I was trying to look Kobato, Chobbit or Angelic-Layers, while I prefer Tokyo Babylon, X-1999, XXXHolic or Tsubasa chronicle. This is not because the same author (here Clamp) makes several works (and that they are ALL interconected too) that have all targeted the same public or even to please everyone.

I even know a “manga reviewer” on Youtube who once said that a manga trying to please everyone was a bad manga because it adopted a “lazy attitude” more than a manga that would maintain the cliches of its genre (even if, in some cases, he does not like it either lol), rather than assuming a particular genre and stick to it.

And property I’m not in agreement with this position it has the merit to exist and when I see what it has produced with Negima (and its heritahe, UQ Holder) I tell myself that he was not entirely wrong either.

Negima brought together two communities that one would think irreconcilable. The harem fans and fans of epic fantasy. But the problem was that it was a forced union, the author of the manga not ceasing to feel more en more frustration as time goes on. But the worst was when, towards the end of negima the editor wanted to force him to re-center on a pure harem and in addition, wanted to seize his writer rights.

In such conditions Negima could NOT correctely finish.

          Let’s summarize the situation somewhat:

          1. the basic project does not correspond to the expectations of the author.
          2. the publisher constantly tries to impose his views to the author.
          3. Editor tries to usurp the writers rights of the author.

How can you have a decent working environment in such a toxic atmosphere! When I think back I tell myself it’s almost a miracle that Negima continued for 38 volumes under such conditions!

So yes, half the fans of Negima are disappointed by the upcoming Akamatsu writing choice. But consider this: if Kodensha hadn’t pressured Akamatsu, Negima would go as he wished. Some reportedly were uninterested but they would just stay at Love-Hina concluding and would “Well, sensei decided to try something a little new. Personally I do not like the shonen, I will pass my way.” And has everything!

Conclusion: This is perhaps paradoxal it’s true, but “Negima first hour fan” should rather blame the kodensha to have force Akamatsu create the 3-A rather than Akamatsu to exercise his right as a writer to write what he wants and express his imagination.

I understand that some fans are disappointed but understand that is not because we do not like a manga that it is bad. You will answer “the reverse is true too!” And Real … No
How do you find that you do not like… good? It’s nonsense.
Someone who loves a story to find that good, someone who does not like the story to find that bad.
It’s perfectly normal but there is no objectivity there.

I have already said, but a manga can not please everybody. Critics are saying here are really useless because Akamatsu doesn’t read them. In reallity it does serve strictly to anything except for two things:

          1. rub salt into the wound of disappointed fans while they ruminate their rage and their hopes disappointed, suffering yet aventages
          2. thwart the pleasure of those who appreciate history.
          Conclusion is totally meaningless business.

          • Seimei says:

ps : Astro is a special case. Already because it is not a “hater” (he likes UQ although it is not an absolute fan and what disappointed by some aspects of the scenario (TOTA !!! lol ^^) or chapters according to their content).

But mainly because it is ur spoileurs donor, every week. Its role is therefore sometimes if the spoils or chapter displease him, to sacrifice himself to allow fans (like me, and others like “Magina” or “NT”) having spoils. Let us honor his heroic sacrifice friends! lol ^^

          • AstroNerdBoy says:

I try to be fair with UQH, as I do with all manga and anime that I review. I can be more harsh with UQH because I feel Akamatsu-sensei has done better, but I can also praise UQH when there are things that I like.

          • arimareiji says:

Seimei, please stop telling me what you think I think. You seriously suck at mind-reading.

          • Seimei says:

            Reiji :
Believe me you are not the first of my knowledge of the web to tell me.

            often because it is true

Either I will admit that I failed to understand your thoughts, but you do not lose anything by trying right?

And once again, was nice to have warned fans in advance for your parody, this independently of the fact that we find the criticism it makes in of UQ, legitimate or not.^^

          • Seimei says:

ps : You should consider the Ragna philosophy, “if you are disappointed by a work, the omissions and move on much, as he said ^^ Was nice to avoid the fans of the series that you criticize the aneurysm is already very nice of you, but you should also try to avoid torture yourself lol.^^

          • Seimei says:

pps : “” If you are disappointed by a work, the omissions and move on much ”

I wanted to say: “if you are disappointed by a work, then forget there and move on.”

          • arimareiji says:

Believe me you are not the first of my knowledge of the web to tell me.

            often because it is true
At least in my opinion, most people don’t like to criticize others because they risk rejection. Because of this, I try to be grateful when someone gives me constructive criticism. (I often fail, but I should always at least try.)

If one person tries to help me even though it’s difficult for them to say, I owe it to them to think about their words seriously.

If several people tell me the same thing and I keep doing it anyway, I’m throwing away a rare and very valuable gift.

Either I will admit that I failed to understand your thoughts, but you do not lose anything by trying right?
Incorrect. When you try to tell people what they’re thinking in a patronizing manner, you usually lose both the chance for rational discourse and the right to be taken seriously even if your guesses are right. If your guesses are wrong (and several of your guesses were very wrong), you’re almost guaranteed to lose both.

“if you are disappointed by a work, the omissions and move on much, as he said
With all due respect, no. But I appreciate the fact you’re being nicer and more subtle about it than you have been in the past.

Was nice to avoid the fans of the series that you criticize the aneurysm is already very nice of you
Again with all due respect, you have a history of reacting very badly to anyone who doesn’t think UQ Holder and Touta are wonderful. It was meant as an honest fair warning, just in case you wanted to avoid stress and conflict.

you should also try to avoid torture yourself lol.
            Still no.

I wanted to say: “if you are disappointed by a work, then forget there and move on.”
            Still no.

          Thank you. 😀

If you scratch the surface of a vociferous critic, you’ll usually find a disappointed fan underneath.

          Yep, that’s me completely.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

      😆 😆 😆 Thanks. I needed a laugh. 😀

  9. TheNameThatCouldNotBe says:

wait is there going to be a color page?

  10. Dargor says:

Seriously, you’re going to turn Eva into a goddamned damsel in distress? That’s the best idea you can come up with Akamatsu? Seriously?

    • Seimei says:

Huh… She is a weak version of Eva huh?

When she had NOT YET a Masters in ancient Greek spells or Magia-Erebea. She isn’t yet “Dark Evengel”

I say that because obviously you have forgotten lol

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

That’s so Super Touta can come to save the day. 😉
