Spotted Flower Chapter 19.5 Manga Review (!Sue)

Spotted Flower Chapter 19.5 (Manga)
Spotted Flower manga chapter 19.5 review

SPOILER Summary/Synopsis:

NOTE: For the purposes of this and future reviews, until the characters are given names, since these characters are obviously from Genshiken (or Genshiken Nidaime), I will call the “not-Saki” character !Saki, the “not Madarame” character !Madarame, and so forth for all other unnamed Genshiken characters.

!Sue is at the summer doujinshi event, carrying a ton of goods. She stops at the booth run by !Hato and !Yajima. The two offer the hot and tired !Sue a chair and water.

After she chugs the water, she gets close to !Yajima and cops a feel, causing !Yajima to have to leave to fix her bra. !Hato asks !Sue to keep her hands off !Yajima. !Sue says that she likes to sometimes feel big breasts. !Hato tells her to speak with her own words. !Sue tells !Hato that their senpai would be hurt to know !Hato said that.

Thoughts/Review:

Well, since I’m pressed for time and this is a tiny chapter, I may as well review it now. 😉

It is amusing to me that Kio-sensei uses these 2-page “.5” chapters to feature !Hato and !Yajima. Well, he usually tells what he wants to tell within the confines of two pages, so its all good.

Spotted Flower Chapter 19.5

For this chapter, we already know !Sue was around. It is humorous seeing her in an older form, and with a larger bust size.

What I gleam from the chapter is that !Sue appears to have had cosmetic surgery done like !Hato had done. I base this on the fact that !Hato remarked on how the two of them had strayed from the blueprints their bodies were built on. It would be wild if Kio-sensei told a tale of how this came about. Somehow, I envision a certain !Sue deciding to get them after breaking up with a certain !Madarame, who never gave up on a certain !Saki. 😉

And, Sue still speaks by quoting others, usually manga or anime.

I liked the nod to !Ohno here. Well, I think it is a nod to Ohno from Genshiken and the bath she had with Saki. It is very late as I write this, so someone can correct me if I’m wrong. My eyes can barely read the screen from being on fire. 😯

In the end, Spotted Flower Chapter 19.5 is kind of an amusing chapter for what it is.

  1. Well is it !Hato wishing she had the resolve to hit all the circles as apparently !Sue has
done? Sue is taller now and maybe the straying from the original plan merely means
the growth rather than breast enlargement. I mean the plan refers to her original
appearance as a character rather than some genetic arrangement in RL. Cause
these are not recounting RL but the evolution of some manga characters.

!Madarame is so popular with Kio so maybe Madarame represents himself and his
    own otaku-ness?

    bliss

You could be right about Sue. I was thinking she might be taller, but I don’t remember seeing her in size comparison to Hato or Yajima.

As to Madarame, I think I remember somewhere that Kio-sensei did put a lot of himself into the character of Madarame. I don’t know how much this is true.

Yeah. I think with “moved away from orgininal body plan” !Hato just meant her (unexpected?) growth spurt and not any surgical body modification. I mean, not only does she have boobs, she’s also CONSIDERABLY taller.

How old is Sue in the main manga anyway? We never got an official answer I think. Considering she looks close to Angela (body-wise) here she has to be in her middle teens in Genshiken. She has to be some kind of genius to be able to go to college at that age.

    • AstroNerdBoy says:

Well, the way !Hato said it makes me think Sue’s growth is not natural. I don’t know how old Sue is, but there are some implications that she could be younger. If that’s true, then Sue could have taken HGH to grow taller, providing she did it well prior to turning 21.

    Minor hijack:

You’ve got to check out this manga: “Grand Blue”. It’s on Batoto.
It’s written by the author of “Baka to Test” and is only five chapters so far. It is ostensibly about diving, but is mostly a comedy. They’ve finally gone into the diving part from chapter 4 onwards.
If you’re like me the first three chapters will make you lol so hard, you’ll be crying. It’s a great comedy with beutiful ocean art.
Check it out, you won’t regret it.
